I got called in to speak to my boss and his boss. They offered me an opportunity to cross train for a position that I've been wanting for a few years.
Also...I love my life...my $6 capacitor fixed my $250 dead sprinkler pump. Just need to plumb it to get it working and find the billions of busted sprinkler heads
Also...
Fixed up our hand me down genesis grill for $100...including stainless thicker gauge flavorizers and new electric start.
And last but not least...TL is easy fixes, on both counts.
PS leak is my dumbass that forgot to put the reservoir back in it's holder last time I changed the belt (was noisy...gates replaced it free)...the belt rubbed a hole in the side.
Don't worry, I fixed it.
...until the new reservoir and 2 bottles of Honda PSF arrive.
It wasn't catastrophic, just a little puddle.
The squeaking noise from the rear suspension is the sway bar bushings. They dry and need a lube...

That I am, my friend...that I am. Her best asset is her ability to make me laugh. I'd be a shell of a man without her.
I appreciate the comment. Hope you have a great weekend.

Wow, Congrats on the job Jerome!
And nice job fixing all that ish. Just don't let your wife brag about it to her friends cuz then you'll be fixin' all of their shit too.

LOL I did the EXACT same thing about 2 months ago!! I didn't cut through my reservoir, however, the plastic is SO thin, it's soft and flexible, lol. I'm pretty sure if it went a day longer I'd be in the same boat you are, lol. Can't be any thicker than a piece of paper!! I bought another reservoir but haven't installed it yet... I'll get around to it

Great. There is some hazing underneath the clearcoat of my CF hood that I can't get rid of. It's embedded in the mould. I'm going to talk with the guy who sold it to me and tell him that I either get another hood or he pays 3/4's of the cost to paint the hood.

I had done that to my reservoir once before and it didn't burn through...at least this forces me to change it. As one of the clear plastics under the hood, it's one of the things that shows it's age in yellowing along with the radiator overflow.
Mmmmm... Now I'm craving BBQ hotdogs...
I'm kind of chapped with Acura. This summer, a friend of mine- a master honda technician, who also spent some time working at one of the two Acura dealerships here in town, never bothered flushing my PSF because he noted the PS hose was leaking (the one that had a recall). He told me to check if the recall was done, and if not, to have it booked in and Acura will end up flushing the fluid anyway when they replace the hose.
Long story short, they only drained as much fluid as they had to, in order to be able to replace the hose and then topped it back up with clean fluid after. They then told me it would be $1xx to have the fluid properly drained and replaced. Are you kidding me?! They were already in there and rather than do it right, they just wasted new fluid by topping off the dirty stuff and then wanted to gouge me on doing it right.
My friend was dumbfounded by this, as he said he would never do that and he did plenty of those PS hose recalls on TLs. So I ended up doing the drain myself, only to end up slicing into the reservoir a few weeks later. Since the reservoir isn't leaking, I'm not going to replace it until the spring. I want to get at least a bit of use out of the current stuff in there.
The acura dealer called me a couple weeks later to ask how my customer service experience was, and I told them I was a little bit annoyed that they wouldn't just do the job right. The woman said she'd speak to the service advisor about it and that he'd call me back. And never did. Keep it up guys. Way to keep your customers happy over $4 of fluid and 15 minutes of labor.

I love his suits, but i think he gets a little too opinionated sometimes. He's even admitted it himself. He has a small compass of who and what is acceptable in hockey, and anything beyond that he just goes bananas on. Like who cares if guys want to wear visors?
I've heard rumours this might be his last year- they might be putting him in a forced "retirement" lol

He'll be controversial no longer since Rogers Communications is taking over HNIC instead of CBC. They're changing stuff around and I think part of the reason he's being put out to pasture. Pretty sure he's in his 70s now. He's had a good run, but alas, nothing lasts forever!
