Shaving 10 lbs in unsprung weight is pretty nice little chunk of weight to save.

Also, usf 2000 races are awesome in the rain

OMG, fuck yes, Austin...carting is the fkng BOMB, bro.

Nothing much:

after work yesterday I edited some pictures, took the 5mm spacer off the S2000 rear, added the new 7mm rear TL spacer and rotate tires, added proper psi to all the tires. Today I ordered the adjustable rear ingalls balljoint for the S2000 to bring the top of the tire back up in preparation for an alignment, removed the lightweight crank pulley on the TL to see if the engine felt smoother. Maybe yes, maybe no...didn't drive it because waiting on Fedex to deliver my 25-250ft/lb torque wrench to tighten the bolt up. Oddly, doesn't seem like the revs got any slower from removing it Maybe it was placebo...I'll sleep on it before selling it.

That's it...waiting to go visit ALL our parents in Miami today

haha you probably have a parts store in your attic haha...

thats nice...I got an alignment on the TL yesterday as well...the rep/tech I go to, moved to a different store and they do not have an inground rack, so getting the car on a regular rack was a bit of a challenge, but got the alignment, rotate and balance done...

last night helped Steven with his Type S....cleaned his engine filter (he has a short ram intake), put the rear caliper cover on (the old one fell off)....the JB weld hadnt dried off complete but he had to leave to get somewhere before they close, so drove off and text me when he got to the store saying he lost the cover LOL....he has like 2 more sitting in his garage, so next time around, am gonna go over his place and let the JB Weld cure for the night....

Good work, man!

Yeah, I actually need to see if the local firestone can get my TL on the rack AND then the S2000. I'll probably just buy another lifetime alignment for it.

^^^

since you mentioned your TL is at 24" FTG, I am 100% sure you will have a nightmare at a firestone with regular racks...mine is at 24.25" FTG all around and we needed a 2x4 block to avoid scraping...

yeah this tech is the bosssss!!! I used to sit in the firestone bay while they worked on my car but when this tech is working on my car, I actually sit in the waiting area...

he came up to me and said, she wont go up the rack...I went out with him and asked him to slowing bring her up...we put a 2x4 and he slowly climbed the rack...it scraped a little bit in the middle, but it was barely anything....overall, I was and am happy with the tech I go to...

How do i get to TDC!?

I cant line up the Pulley mark with the mark on the head.

however; there is a black permanent marker line on the pulley that matches up to the line on the head.

I swapped over the rockers from my J32 onto the J37 pictured above

it looks like you're one shy of TDC, Justin. When you say you CAN'T line it up is it because it's fighting you? Is it possible that you only need to line them up once it's all bolted on the car and you're finally stringing the timing belt?

^ i cant because when I rotate the bolt, it rotates past the mark.

but the permanent marker line matches up perfectly....

What tf are you talking about nukka.. nothing's lined up in that pic.

Considering you have a frankenstein pair of heads.. those marks don't mean shit unless they properly installed the cams. I'm guessing the cams were pulled with the pulley attached and directly swapped. I'd be concerned that that the front cam was installed in the rear head (I'm not sure that's even possible).

Line this up (highlighted in yellow).. then check to see if the valves are closed on the first cylinder (lobes up). Just for shits, check TDC on the crank, you should see the first cylinder at the peak of the compression cycle (all the way at the top). This means at peak compression, all valves are closed and in time.. keep rotating, exhaust valves open up on the exhaust cycle, piston goes down, intake valves open up as exhaust valves close, then back to compression stroke.

Worse case, line it up by hand by following the valve cycle, as the intake valves close, check the marks.
