Our chapter leader and organizer of this meet won't have his car because of a fender bender and another member just had a fender bender yesterday. I won't be able to attend the Sunday cruise because of an Autocross... People are dropping out like flies.
Also Senor Majofo will be busy at the Xgames in Austin

I've met Champ a few times and he seems like cool guy. Just very busy. I wasn't aware of any drama in our chapter or the politics behind the decisions.
Are the other Texas Chapter leaders involved in this decision? Everyone else seems to be taking a back seat.

So maybe you guys can help me out. I'm looking to purchase a 2004 TL NBP 6SPD with NAV and Factory A-spec from a friend. The car has been meticulously maintained and current has 159k miles. He is asking $8500 for the car which I feel is fair. What do you guys think? Also it has recent set of Koni Yellows with the A-spec springs. Oh and the clutch is original but still feels good.

At this mileage, I would hope it has had the 105k service done but double check. That service runs many people up to $1000.

I don't think there is any drama the meet is set for a 3 day event. From the beginning I made it clear that I couldn't make it over there until Saturday afternoon. We had around 4 members from houston backing out, Dallas pretty much non existent as usual so I just decided the trip wasn't worth it for me as a big part of it for me is the caravan on the way

Good deal doogle
Okay cool that is what I thought as well. He is throwing in a bunch of spare parts including a full set of the 17" OEM wheels. My wife currently has a 2013 Civic si, but we are trying to get rid of the car payment. Thought this would be a good replacement.

doogle seems like you have gotten yourself a good car...
no matter what maintenance has been done or left out, when buying a car, I would recommend doing couple things just for piece of mind...
-Engine oil change
-Transmission fluid change (I know a lot of 6MT owners use the GM Synchromesh fluid or some like that, look into that)
-PS flush (Honda fluid is just fine)
-check brakes and bleed them (I use ATE Super Blue....i used to use Valvoline dot 3 and 4 and it worked just fine )
-drain radiator and fill in some new coolant (honda OEM)
also check the motor mounts, they seem to go out on our cars
run some fuel system cleaner (i actually run seafoam...again am not sure if it does anything or not and a lot of people swear by it, but when I opened my heads at 160K, they were crystal clean)....so run some seafoam in the gas tank, vac line, oil case (before you do an oil change)
pull a plug and see if they need replacing

Yeah, 6MT is getting much harder to find. And you found it with a Nav too!
Hope it treats you well, there's tons of info here if you need other help as well.
There is a sticky at the top of this section labeled "3G Garage", it has threads on pretty much everything you need to know.
