WD, nice start to your watches...but, start saving up...Go Swiss next time.
You need about ~$3000 to get a decent auto from the land of the Alps.

Lmao. Never spending that much on a watch.
But thank you, sir. New pair of Oakleys on the way too.

Each true timepiece has a rich history, story to it...and it's with you for the rest of your life to pass onto your next of kin. Something to think about.

I just don't see myself ever spending that much on a watch. They're neat to look up but I'd rather have a Corvette in my driveway than on my wrist.

On a serious note, while I only have a very modest watch collection so far, probably the most prized of my pieces is a VERY simple quartz Orient rectangular watch that my Grandpa wore for as long as I remember; it doesn't even have a seconds hand...money was not easy for him and so, he considered this like a luxury and treasured it. Probably not more than $100 for it...
FWIW, my TAG retails for $10K. And I recently ordered a Baume & Mercier for $2300.
When he passed away, it was one of the only things I asked for to keep.

WD's young H.. He might pick up a nice timepiece when he gets older. That's a nice watch for his age.
The significance of your possessions is tied culturally. You don't see too many project leads wearing a $20 timex, 501 jeans and a big johnson shirt. If we were rappers, we'd be like.. yo dawg, your watch don't have no bling son!

...no, it clogged the washer's drain line. Had to replace the washing machine. Then tried to dry it in the dryer and it clogged the lint filter and the dryer caught on fire. Dryer was near the gas line for the water heater and the entire house went up in flames.

I lost most of my watches and collection when my apartment was broken into....none were 3K expensive but 14 watches were stolen, each about 150 bucks...some cheap fossil, some decent priced diesel, and 2 $$$ emporio armani....
after that I really really didnt care about watches even though the renters insurance picked up the tab...jewelry limit (and watches come under jewelry) was about 1250, thats what they gave me....
total bill for insurance was about 5500....TV/PS3/Home theatre/watches/games/about 100 bucks in cash/colognes all gone !!!
since then, I got a MotoActv watch, the wifey gifted me a Rado and I picked up a Nixon and Giorgio Armani...I mostly use the MotoActv since it tracks the steps and calories burnt and all the BS....

Are you still in an apartment? If not, get a home security installed...it helps.
Hope karma catches up to those @$$wipes soon. Rado and Nixon are quite cool.
