Morning guys,

Just ordered some butyl rubber from retrofitsource cause I'm going to be clearing my lights soon. Anyone use this stuff?

Can you confirm he has inspires, Jus? I figured you'd know...I mean, pretty sure I saw that he had put them in.

And yes, any butyl sealant should work just fine.

OCI Butyl Rubber Glue Headlight Sealant Retrofit | eBay
i just ordered 3 rolls the other day, it got delivered yesterday so i'll let you know the quality of it. i will be using some tonight on a project.

looks to be essentially the same thing as Nissan butyl sealant so i'm sure it's fine.

I just got some 3M sealant off of amazon...used it to seal some tails on Saturday and I can say that I personally think it was better because it was $11 and 15 x 5/8'" I think. So I didn't have to roll it out to make it thinner, it was the perfect thickness.

It was a tad stickier than the napa butyl stuff I bought prior.

Okay great thanks!

Any tips from anyone who has cleared their lights? The project looks simple enough, just seems like the only slightly difficult part would be separating and then sealing afterwards

^it's cake. you'll be fine just reading the DIY's provided on this forum.

taking them apart is easy. sealing them up correctly is more important.

None of it is hard...especially if you're not painting anything. You literally will bake, pry open, remove diffuser, add bead of butyl reheat and press back together.

I'll be blacking out the chrome housing. Leaving the reflector as is. Did you leave your DRLs in while baking? or only the HID component?
