Saucy,

loaded XD45 is 40oz
loaded 1911 ~38oz to 50oz

I feel like I have a bit more control with a 1911. Even shooting a compact kimber, I can be pretty accurate. Although, I'd prefer to carry a full length 1911.


Also, the sound of a 22 doesn't scare anyone. The sound of a 45 will blow you out of shoes, sound alone.. of course, if you hit them, you'd blow them out of their socks.

personally maj, i cant stand the grip safety of the springfields. Cant ever get the feel for them and it just doesnt feel right in my hand.

My next gun WILL be a 1911. I'd like a .45 but availability and price of the ammo is an issue. I may go with 9mm since I already have dems bullets.

Oh, on that back of the grip. I personally haven't shot one with it but my brother's Springfield doesn't stand out too much, when you lay your hand on it, it aligns with the grip.
