I meant your attitude that you can hip fire in the general direction of what you're shooting and blow it to bits with a shotgun. You still need your target in your sights with a shotgun, especially in close quarters. Buck won't spread that much in 10 feet. You're better off using a 22/38 or sbr for home defense. I'd rather have dual chambered birdshot and slugs.. birdshot to stun, slugs to pop them open when they're hiding behind the wall.

I agree with all the above. My 870 is loaded birdshot, #4 buck, birdshot, #4 buck, slug, slug, slug.

Not the only thing in common, either...

Personal life

Harris with his partner David Burtka in September 2011
Harris is openly gay, confirming this in November 2006 by saying "I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love."[23]
Harris attended the Emmy awards in September 2007 with his partner David Burtka, later confirming the relationship, which he said began in 2004, in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.[24] On August 14, 2010, Harris announced that he and Burtka were expecting twins via a surrogate mother.[25][26] The fraternal twins Gideon Scott, a boy, and Harper Grace, a girl, were born in 2010.[27][28]
Following the passage of the Marriage Equality Act in New York on June 24, 2011, Harris and Burtka announced their engagement via Twitter,[29] stating that they had proposed to each other five years earlier but kept the engagement secret until same-sex marriage became legal.[30]
In A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, a joke refers to his coming out. As his persona in the film is heterosexual and womanizing, he is presented as only pretending to be gay so that women will find him less intimidating at first. Burtka also played himself, as Harris' secret drug dealer.

My 45 I have staggered FMJ and hollow points. One to pound and weaken armor the other one to destroy flesh and tissue.

I just want a 1911 because it is intimidating. The desert eagle .50 cal and .44 mag revolver are others that come to mind when seeing that gun you suddenly think O shit to yourself.

Most people will run when they see a gun in general, no matter the caliber.

It's an ugly piece of steel. It's not even clean.
It shoots well, but it's nothing to drool over.

This blue CZ 97B 45ACP with custom grip on the other hand..

I tend to disagree with the idea of a shotgun not being good home protection. You can for the most part hip fire and hit a target, it will not penetrate walls to harm neighbors, kids, what have you to the extent a pistol and/or assault rifle can. I own a mossberg 500 loaded with 00 and keep it by the bed. Like anything else, everyones situation is different. I wouldn't have a long range to shoot an intruder, so I assume that is why my feelings are to disagree

Kids..

I'm not saying the 1911 is a bad pistol. It's my favorite, but if you're pulling it out to show off.. you're going to have a bad time.. mmmkay.

I do like kimber 1911 bodies.. but they're more finicky than my lawnmower, which is why I don't own one.

If trained correctly, I'd consider a handgun or an AR the better weapon for home defense. Although I agree with wacker about bullet velocities.

The sad fact is people aren't trained correctly. And the average John Q, or Mrs John Q, would likely be better off to use a buckshot shotgun.

Shoot a glock 19 9mm, a 1911 45acp, a s&w revolver 38 special + 357, 12ga buck and slug full-stock shotty and an AR15 223/556.

You'll spend about 200 on rental fees and ammo at the going rate, but you'll have a better feel for what you like.

Then go back, shoot more of what you like and throw in some different variety of what you like.. then buy what you really like and shoot often.

Hey, nothing against it.. I love them. But I don't think they're pretty.

Just pretty fucking awesome.

I do love the look of Kimbers, especially custom Kimbers.. just too much coin and way too much hassle.

Go buy one.. they're dirt cheap. I'd start with an old colt or para.. just don't take a job as neighborhood watchman.. mmkay.

We have a local range that has what they call a "date night". $45 gets you dinner for two and 2 boxes of ammo for your gun. If you need to rent a gun they have really cheap "date night" rates for that also.

Gonna do that with the wife soon as she has never been to a range. She has only shot in our back yard or at my parents house.

In my experience shooting guns, especially ones the woman thinks are too powerful for her, usually gets the juices flowing.

Capitalize on that!

Hey Justin, speaking of guns your upper just arrived from Palmetto State and I received your bolt carrier group and charging handle yesterday.

I just need to go to the LGS (local gun store) and pick up your lower then put it together.

Will post some pics later when I get it finished.

That pink rifle is awesome (sans the color) that's the XM8 or M8, whichever you want to call it.

Was once going to be our standard rifle of the armed forces, replacing the M16/M4 but never made it through testing.

I love the look though, really sad it didn't make it too. It would be deployed in different platforms, easy barrel and mag change, could be fired left or right handed...amazing really...

Sniper: Change barrel (longer) and add a scope.

LMG: Heavier barrel than standard and accessories (bipod, different stock, ect.)
