The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Part 2)
It doesn't specify which parts exactly and I'm pretty sure valve adjustment isn't included. Since in only says TB package service I would think all related to that would be included, belts tensioner etc. Water pump probably not but that's cheap and it has to come off anyway, right. I'm sure valve adjustment wouldn't be included.

well no matter how a motor wants to breathe, if you put a 10" intake, its gonna loose power since the intake velocity drops...you dont want the intake air to slow down....
just like an exhaust, you can put a 5" catback, but you are going to loose low end only because, the exhaust pulses loose velocity....

I am sure it does not include plugs AND valve adjustment, but if its includes EVERYTHING else, I still feel its a decently good deal....
Acura service shop near me had a similar deal except it was $750. It only included timing belt and water pump.
Oh you want an auto-tensioner.. $130
Adjuster.. $120
Idler Pulley.. $50
Plugs.. $75
Drivebelt.. $50
Then.. deal not so much. Way cheaper to buy the parts kit, which includes everything ~$200 and take it to an independent shop who specialize in Hondas to get it done. An honest place will charge no more than $400 labor if you supply the parts. Mark the old parts and new parts and make sure you get the old parts as part of the deal.

I know you have a relationship with your shop GK.. and if you want to keep it, that's fine. Just giving you some info if you want to save money. Cutting the cord isn't so bad.

I had the dealer save all the marked old parts.....and the dealer said 400-450 for labor, for a independent shop, it shouldnt be more than 200-250....
but do look around, and keep your options open

I just like having peace of mind, the dealer was going to do it, warranty it....i could have done it but at that point, didnt have a garage, did not want to deal with "fuck, what now"....and knowing how I am, if I would have heard any noise/chirp at all after the job was done, I would have blamed it on the install and it would have driven me crazy....
so paying 400-450 to the dealer was not a bad deal for me...you have to pay 300-400 in parts anyway

I don't trust anyone touching my car except for me anymore. Too many shady experiences with mechanics and dealer service advisers, and lazy/incompetent dealer techs. If it's not an engine swap, transmission rebuild/swap, or clutch, or something that requires expensive crazy ass tools that can't be rented out, I'm doing it mahself.
I love you, justin.
I don't have the space or the tools to do one right now. Eventually I'll have my own mansion with a 12 car garage and lifts and all the tools ever made. And I'm going to start collecting cars that I've always loved that aren't expensive. 3000GT VR4.

also, unless you are doing a valve job, the plugs are not going to be a part of your 105K service either...
I recommend (and i do this personally) grouping the work...keep a FULL DAY (maybe weekend) for 105K service...so if you hear some different noise or something, you know it was part of the 105K that you did...
I would keep intake manifold/TB/EGR cleaning along with valve adjustment and plugs...
I didnt wanna say anything coz I just wanted to see your response...it sure is priceless LOL
