T-bones are excellent.. I like an even sized T-bone.. closer to a Porterhouse, about 1.5-2 inch cut, nice marbling... mmmm.. doesn't get better than that. Most suckers don't realize a well cut T-bone / Porter will rival a filet / ribeye at a fraction of the cost.

Back to talking about meaty bones.. definitely get an even cut t-bone / porter.. many butchers try to cut out more filet, that's the good part, so be picky. Sometimes if the sirloin is too lean, they'll cut more filet.. I pass if I don't see the right cut.. otherwise I'll grab a ribeye.

T-bones are the best bang for the buck at any steakhouse. It seems only the know of this though. I ask white people and most go at me.

I learned from my brosef, he worked at a butcher shop when he was young.
He gave me my meat education and I pass on my meat knowledge to all. :gheylaugh:

Like.. why would you pay $40 for a small filet when for $30 you can get a porter which includes the same sized filet + a nice sized sirloin attached to a tasty bone which you can use to pick your teeth with afterward.

At any high-end restaurant, I was also often suggested to avoid looking at the items near the top of the menu. Usually the better stuff and plates with more $$$ ingredients are purposely placed lower in the menu.

Nice. I didn't know a butcher but I learned all my shortcuts for eating out from parents.

I've been in the mood for prime rib with a nice scoop of horseradish for the past few weeks.. I'll take two hold the potatoes.

One of the nice things about this province is that the beef here is arguably the best I've had...anywhere.
So, the winters may be stupidly brutal...but, damn, do we get nice biff. Had prime rib, yorkshire pudding, and grilled veggies on Saturday with the wife at our fave steakhouse.
Headed back there again this weekend to celebrate my buddy's b-day...it's also a buck a shuck oysters all day Sunday.

And oh, the place serves prime rib with grilled garlic...it is soft and like butter when you smear it onto the steak. Gooooooood stuff.
