Seriously...I would do that. Sometimes you have to act quickly and do what's right, can you imagine sitting there watching it about to happen?

Speaking of which, 2 dead young racoons near work. Made me really sad. RIP little guys.

Best GIF you've posted this week...
I don't know if they were walking together, or one died and the other was looking over it and got hit...it breaks my heart. Possums are less "cute" but I still feel badly. And cats/dogs...forget it...I'm soft for that sorta thing.

I saw a dead cat in the middle of the road a couple months ago, that was just terrible.

Btw do you guys have a lot of down time at work? I feel like I should be way more productive, yet I'm chilling on a car forum for a big part of the day

i run jobs all day on different servers. sometimes they are big jobs and take a day to run. in the mean time, acurazine.
setting up the jobs take time tho, and i gotta sort through the work flow to make sure the jobs are running correctly.

I am exactly the same way...

heart cries a little when I see road kill

when the skunk was stuck in our ingress window well, I went to home depot to get a snare OR a pool cleaning net to get him out of there, and 10 of 10 home depot employees told me to shoot the poor thing....I was seriously in rage...

I ended up scotch taping an extension pole to the handle of a bucket, cornered the little guy and put the bucket in front of him...we woudnt go in there, so I hosed him off and sure enough, we walked into the bucket....took the bucket out, walked it to the end of the subdivision and let him off in the woods....

Anyhow, slapstick aside...near white-out this morning...got my kid safely to his daycare but on the way to work, plowed into a Honda CR-V...totally my fault. I thought it was a turning lane (it wasn't) and drove straight. So, bam...into the other car's door.

Yeah, just bruised ego I guess. And very angry with myself...completely at fault.

But, I am positive the horrid weather, being up since 4AM contributed to my braincramp to thinking that the turning lane I was on allowed to go straight.

Fark. Deductible is $500 out of pocket and my rates will go up by around $20 each payment in the next pay cycle I believe.

Relieved that Little Cha was not in the car though.

Yeah. Bumper needs replacement...we'll check the sensors later but those should be fine.

Going through insurance for sure given the number I did on the lady's passenger door.

At least the snow storm has subsided somewhat.

Thanks, man.

Yeah, no one was hurt...the collision occurred at relatively slow speeds...just a fender bender from the looks of it. I checked on the lady repeatedly to see if she's alright and she said she was fine...

The problem is also because it is so cold, even a light nudge would cause more damage given how all the parts are not exactly that flexible in this temperature.

I'm guessing all in, it'll be $5K to fix both cars.
