we got another in here....now somebody gonna get hurt real bad (am looking at you )
LOL, we had similar requirements...ended up looking at the CUV/SUV segment. Hence, the FX. I know it's popular to hate on Infiniti these days, I would urge you to have a look at their cross-over. Good performance, loaded with tech...
Otherwise, 5-Series would get my vote. I priced out a 535xd on bmw.ca just yesterday...with what I wanted: $80K. Yow.

I like Infiniti's...maybe we will pick the M45 (errr Q70504947575) over the competition (A6, E550, 550xi, Genesis, Equu, etc)

^ Yeah, Kumar...at the very least, give the Infinitis a try...you may just be surprised.

yezzir....couple local members drive a G35x sedan...and they love em....I love the aggressive look and the exhaust note of the infiniti's...
the issue is, I would like some sedan with 400+ horses and AWD...that kinda kicks hyundai out of the competition LOL and the other sedans 550i xdrive and E550 as well as the S6, get to 80K
I have not done any research yet, but I will be starting soon
maybe 535i xdrive/A6 can be easily modded (tune/etc) and you can get some ponies out of them

Yummy.. I understand your desire to drive a bimmer.. My mom has had two 7 series. They treated her like royalty... until it went out of warranty. While in the shop to fix a front end leak, the shop broke the hydraulic steering modulator, said it must have broken in the 500 ft she drove after picking up the car and charged her $7k for the part, plus $1.5k for tie rods that didn't need replacement. She didn't know any better. I tore the shop a new asshole. It will be the last BMW owned in our family.
My company makes chips that go in their cars, and while the cars are very attractive and enticing to own from a performance perspective. Every time I think about it, I just don't want to own a car from a company that fucks their customers over and produce shit cars. They don't care about customers who own them out of warranty. You might be thinking of buying a new gen, but don't think they're any better than the previous gen.
Also, a diesel engine should be bulletproof. +300k miles bulletproof. There are members who have had rebuilds done within the first 50k miles. Fuck that noise. If you do get it, get the petrol model. More common, cheaper to fix, and usually less problems as well.

Also, that fucking leak they "fixed" wasn't fixed. She took it 3 separate occasions, they were throwing parts at it. They had the car in their shop for almost 3 months. I was so fucking upset. I tore their lead tech and manager apart. I really just wanted to grab a breaker bar and beat their fucking heads in, then drop the car on their bodies.

What year/generation would you say is the final year that BMW was reliable and easy to work on yourself. I've always loved them but never pulled the trigger for all the reasons you mention.
My buddy just got a Q50 and I really loved the look and the tech inside was absolutely incredible. 2 touch screens mounted in there...crazy.
I'm easily butthurt? I call it seeing red when people are aholes!

I watched a documentary about the GT-R and it made me appreciate all the work that goes into one. They really put a lot effort into the design.

And I'm not one to lease as I think that is financially stupid. We'll see...my current love for "next car" is the 5er but tastes change and I'm nowhere close to changing cars yet. I was almost certain that I would be in a Lexus GS before I ditched the sedan idea and considered CUV/SUV...

My friend had an '06 a few years ago. Boat sounds about right
I've heard that a lot of them are having tech issues. I've only seen 1 or 2 in my area since they've been out. Have you gotten any driver's seat time in it yet?

I have not, we had a bbq and he showed up in it. He sold his 3G TL for it too...
Well, honestly, that bish has a touchscreen Navi with a supporting touchscreen navi so I do NOT doubt there are issues. As you know, we're relying more and more on technology. Makes it a rolling living room which is why, believe it or not, I love how simple the S2000 is. I get in it, drop top, maybe adjust AC and music volume and that's absolutely it. It's all about the drive.

Again, I think it is "in" to hate on Infiniti but even with the new naming scheme, I think it is fine. People raze on the Q50 name saying it does nothing to reveal the car...well, if you reboot the naming scheme, it works. All cars/sedans start with a Q and if it is an SUV, it has an X to go with the Q. The number is just the number...similar to Audi (i.e. A4, A5, Q7, A8)...
Still, I think the FX is my last Infiniti...

Yes sir:
We have the SRX for that purpose, and also because wife to be can't drive stick.
TL is on "comfortable" and rain duties
S2000 has been my daily lately because short commute, gorgeous out and new novelty
Funny how fast perception can change...the TL used to feel harsh and cramped...now, it's like MY cadillac when I ride in it. I'm like, sweet mother, look at all this ten year old LUXURIES!
I love Infiniti, and Lexus. I'd gladly own either of them at some point.

Makes sense
I'll be keeping my TL until it dies but with the lady getting her new car and mine at 115k making more squeaky noises, it's hard not to think about new prospects.
I saw an '11 4G SHAWD with 6MT for sale in my area recently but I know if I go drive it, I'll probably buy it

I don't have anything nearly as hardcore as you like your Honda but the MINI would be my comparison...I think it is a riot to drive but if I had to pick between it and the FX on a long trek, the Infiniti would win hands down...
