Don't mean to break up the party, but I wanted to tap into the wiseness in this thread. My brother got scammed for a phone on craigslist and we pulled some vigilante stuff to confront this kid on a second transaction with a different number. Long story short: I chased him down until the police threatened me with disorderly conduct if I didn't stop chasing him and he got away. The police probably won't do anything and all we really have is this guys license plate number. The phone number he was using is Google voice so it doesn't trace to anything. What would you guys do?

I'm pretty passive.
i'd learn my mistake and would make sure I didnt get scammed again.
in another words, take the loss. reformulate, and try again while not getting robbed.

I concur as well....
live and learn, no need to go all Zimmerman on that guy special when you were warned to let it go....you are better off with couple hundred dollars in a scammers pocket rather than sitting behind bars....
1 thing I have realized is people who scam/fraud/steal, are trigger happy....you meet him again like a tough guy and if he has a pocket knife/gun on him, am sure he wont hesitate to use it...

Be safe tonight, if you're going out. Have fun!

Hey, I just remembered.......6 years ago today, I bought my 2007 Type S. I actually picked it up on January 1st, 2008. But this is the best day out of the entire year to buy a car.....end of month/end of year!

^^^ depends on state....
in MO, the first year of taxes are exempt....so buying a car on 2nd Jan is better than 30th/31st Dec...

I beg to differ. It will still count on your property taxes (for those who have them) as property owned on or before 12/31. The best day to buy a car is 1/1, then you don't have to pay PT til 12/31/15 on that particular vehicle.

I mean, I tried J...I tried.
But, who does this (except Ruby): Case in point...someone posts a pretty neat video of a TT uber-car S7. In the meanwhile, she goes and posts something idiotic about an idiotic person no one cares about and obviously, when no one really responds, she notices that everyone is talking about the kick@$$ S7...so, she then tries Plan B...post some pictures that are irrelevant and when those get no response, she goes to Plan Desperate and posts a dated article about the incoming replacement vehicle. Still no response. So, she goes and creates a new thread about the new car with the same dated article (repost).
You can't find the original dated post about the new car because I wiped it out. But, I'm sure I'll be getting a profanity-laced love-letter PM soon.

Happy New Year Everybody!!!!!!!!!!
Lol. Dude. I now have everything on this kid and his entire family. Addresses, family history, phone numbers. Small Claims incoming. It's not about the money to me at this point. This kid is scamming honest, hard working people out of their money and I want him to go down.
