The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Part 2)
Chapter Leader (Southern Region)
Vegas for a week used to be our annual migration, friends and family would fly in.. tickets, suite as cosmo, shows, drink every fancy drink there is (and a few shit ones). Party in XS, Marquee, eat all teh foods.. I'm talking all the legit places. See some tits, shoot some guns, fly in a heli, drive some cars, get a massage, bang some hoes (miz), gamble, drunk gamble lose everything, come home, fuck yeah.. lets go again in a few weeks.. and that's small time regular shit.
Couple trips back I drank like 20 rum and cokes, 4 goose martinis, 5 whiskeys, and one of those obnoxious jugs from Fat Tuesdays with everclear. After 2 hours of gambling and drinking into the wee hours, I tried to withdrawl 10k from my checking.. luckily the ATM was like, you're drunk, go home. Made it back to the room (don't remember), spinning like crazy.. took 2 hr shower, finally sleep, wake up in 3 hrs to checkout.. complain to wife that I don't have enough time to pack and take a shower, she dead stares at me.. YOU TOOK A 2HR SHOWER LAST NIGHT!! (didn't remember until she mentioned it) Pack shit up in the car.. fuck I'm still drunk.. go eat eggs benedict and cool out until I'm less drunk.
My brosef got so trashed on that flight back he was super drunk and sick. He goes to crap on the plane, flight attendant keeps bugging him every 10 minutes.. apparently he was on the shitter for almost an hour. Sir are you okay? I'm fine, leave me alone. They finally break the door down with his pants down at his ankles.. whole plane is looking. WTF are you doing?!?! He sobers up real quick, goes back to seat after closing door and pulling up pants.
A lot of great memories were made for sure. I don't even think of all the money we've dropped over the years. Definitely GT-R money.
Brah.. the boys still thank me to this day for some of the shit we got into. Some say I'm evil, others a facilitator.. I'm just the gateway bro to hedonistic pussy in your face, motorboat heaven. Talk about spending money, no buyers remorse.

Lots of great memories.. seeing discover take her final voyage into space.. that was a 2-time trip since the original flight got scrubbed. Celebrating CNY in Taiwan and standing next to one of the beehives when it went off. Tons of dive excursions, those are always memorable. Over thousand dives and I still have dreams about some of them. Visiting every known national park west of the Mississippi and some to the east of her..
I mean some crazy wildlife and nature experiences that I don't think most people would believe. Like parking at the beach only to wake up to a herd of over 100 bull elk around the car. Hitting a moose late at night leaving yellowstone. Tons of bears (especially in Yellowstone and Banff), bison, wild horses, prairie dog towns, coyotes, wolves, armadillo and everything in between along the way.. and that's on land. I even saw a bald eagle swoop down into a river and snatch a 30 lbs salmon out. I could swear the wings stretched from one side of the river to the other. Fishing during the run off Vancouver island, fish just popping out of the break. So many fish that we would cast our line and get a hit right away.. We hauled in two salmon by the tail but lost 6 lures.. Caught some dirty fucker spying in the girls bathroom at the campground the morning after (probably french canadian).. lol. Park ranger arrested the perv.
Still plenty on the bucket list but I count myself fortunate to have experienced what I have. Money is important in life, but your time here is short. Help others, be righteous, enjoy life and your happiness and experiences will enrich yourself and that enriches those around you. All my gun shooting, hand to hand combat, car talk and general buffoonery just keeps me busy until I take the next hop. If you don't have money, figure out how to get it without killing anyone and make the most out of it. Probably why I kept pushing WD to go to school.

That was the most thoughtful and well written set of posts you've ever posted. Please do take the time to share more of your experiences like that. I enjoyed reading it and in addition, I do feel that in life, you have to be open to hear how other's view/live it and there's always a take away for what I can do better/differently to have a more fulfilling and happy life.
Thanks, sincerely.

I agree with J, that was a great read Maj. That sounded like one hell of a Vegas experience! And, cool to hear you scuba dive because I do as well.

3k.. that's it.. shiet.. Just me and wife spend at least 4-5k on the tickets alone. 2-3 weeks away.. We don't spend a lot once we're there though. Maybe 2k because we have places to stay and food. Spend money entertaining, gifts, and taking family out.

Great posts, Maj. I've been trying to travel a bit more, I'm finally making enough money to where it's not a horrible, awful idea to spend a grand on a nice trip every so often.
I'm with y'all on cutting back to give more money "where it counts" - i.e. eating out, taking trips, so on. I do a lot for the sake of having track car funds. Am I literally turning money into fire and noise? Yes. Is it worth it? Every fuckin' dime.
And yes, to whoever asked, I ski. Just got back from a 4-day trip to Seven Springs. Closed out my last night there with two black-diamond runs in mostly darkness. It was a blast.

Never done any rig dives, but my dad has. I've dove some fresh water springs in Florida. My most memorable dives were in Cozumel, Mexico. Did some small cave dives, a small ship wreck. Palancar Reef was pretty awesome. It's been a few years since I've been diving. I'm ready to go again!

I was going to do flower garden last year but some shit came up. I was really dreading that boat ride out. I haven't done a rig yet either. A dive buddy of mine lived in LA and did a bunch.. He saw some big Jew fish (Goliath Grouper) swimming around them.. probably ~300 lbs at least. That would have been worth it alone.

The cost of the trip obviously depends on how far you're going. I do weekend trips from Chicago for less than $250 which includes flight, hotel, and rental car. Living near O'Hare is convenient as fuck! Once I've explored most of America, I'll start exploring the rest of Earth. There's so much here that I haven't seen yet so I'm working on that.
I've been taking weekend trips to go skiing in Colorado (3rd one coming up this weekend). Round trip flights from 60-100 bucks, got a bunch of 4-pak lift tix pre season for cheap. I'm in love with it and am probably going to move there later this year. (Not just for skiing, but also because I have connections at Colorado State and CU Boulder that are pulling me into their graduate programs for EE.)
Haha dude you're my actual hero. Has BMW race car for summer and skiis back country shit like a baus.
I'm starting to get very comfortable on moguls - working on navigating them at a faster speed. I can navigate most blacks without bailing as long as there isn't an unexpected ice patch.
Also, I love you Majofo.
