The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Part 2)
If not on the pump, it's kinda of a hassle, as you have to bring insulin everywhere you go. Before pump it was 3-4 shots per day, now on the pump it's 1 shot every 3 days. Better control with the pump as well!
Taco-pump ain't cheap for sure. I believe my ins was billed $9600, and I had to pay almost 1K out of pocket. But aftr having it, I would never go back to shots.
Also, you can disconnect for all bedroom activities, wakeboarding, etc.....it really is a lot easier! I'd be interested to know how much your insurance would cover.

Not for people who don't like needles.
I'm at ~35 (I think?) blood donations so far and I give blood by apheresis so they can suck platelets & plasma and give me back the rest. Poke on the finger, poke on one arm, draw blood from other arm. The worst is when it fucks up and in like a span of 15 seconds you end up with a multicolored bruise on your arm. Good times!
Y'all a bunch of diabetics I see!

I really don't understand how people can go day to day without managing it. It's really not that hard and by not managing it, I feel like absolute shit. I've already come to terms with the fact that I won't live as long as non-diabetics, though. It sucks, but it's true. All I can do is keep on top of things to extend that time length as much as possible!

Oh Canada!
Taco-you should! In high school, I was like "how the fuck can I play basketball, waterski, etc...?". Now that I have it, it's Sooo much easier than shots. Plus, if you have a glucose monitor with the ability to send sugars to pump, it does all the math, and you just enter carbs you plan to eat, bam, figures it all out for ya!
I don't wear the optional sensor for every 3 min BS testing, that sends that BS reading to the pump. I just don't have enough fat to wear another sensor. Pricking finger is a lil easier.....

That's fuckin terrible. I hope that mom is happy she's killing her own kid, slowly. I think because the major negative side effects aren't immediately apparent with out of control sugar levels, people just let it go. It'll suck for that kid when he is 35 and his liver and kidneys are failing.
I've been relying on injections since I've been diagnosed, however, I've been considering trying out a pump. My only problem with them is that I have to wear it all the time which seems would be awkward. Sleeping, banging, going to the beach, whatever. Now that I know you're somewhat behind the pumps, I'll stick to my injections
I've heard those pumps are like 10k. Glad my insurance will be paying for it all. Suckers.

Not really...I just think there is a little bit of a double standard...it is ok to offend but...
My issue is...if a black person came in Ramblings and dropped the "n" word, would that be racist or offensive?
Steven busted us, without knowing what our respective race is...

Mebbe promoting of-the-:ghey: material is something AZ condones since well, we are entering a new era where :ghey: and heterosexual rights are to be equal?
And frankly, let's be honest...we still are in a wacist, wacist world.
Look at all the top $$$$$$ wealthy mofos on the planet. All gwai-ros. All of them. I'm not talking about rich. I'm talking about generational wealth-rich. These guys are so rich that if they woke up and suddenly saw their net worth was the same as LeBron James, they'd scream and go into a fetal position. THAT'S the wealth I'm talking about.
So, yeah...how many , , , and you know are THAT wealthy? If there is one or the odd one...maybe.
And also, I'm as wacist as ever. I hire only Asian.

Nononononononono...when Pink Dawgy Dawg here is talking about shoving his balls into your mouth, he's being sensitive to the of-the-:ghey: people and wanting you ALL to feel what it's like to be of the :ghey:!
So, Maj really is just being a sensitive person towards :ghey: people.
And salad. And honestly, in a world where everyone is nearly a fat@$$...eating more salad is a good thing. So, yeah...this is why AZ condones the salad and ball-eating posts.

Gary, I think that's the point...racism/sexism/religious discrimination is not tolerated on any level by anyone. The :ghey: jokes are tolerated, but not anything serious about someone's sexual preference. If Jake said he was not okay with us ribbing him, I guarantee you we'd get another warning.
And frankly, let's be honest...we still are in a wacist, wacist world.

I also think that anyone who says they 100% not racist are lying to themselves, and us.
Well I would disagree a bit...there are many rich Asians...there are rich Latinos also...(drug lords)...but I would agree...the uber rich are mostly white...I'm wacvist too, I would never hire an Asian...

You think I'm kidding...but...I'm honestly not? I was a kid to the max...thanks to my parents...but, one thing I was taught: if I'm the only kid in something remotely academic, I'm going to beat them all.
So, I'm sitting in some piano competition and everyone is gwai-ro. Everyone. My mom chuckles and asks me what I want with the $300 first prize scholarship money.

I agree J, but I still think there is a double standard...we have the occasional female stop by and I would think some would be offended by some of the comments/language etc. They might be intimidated and not complain...same as Jake...err :ghey:, they might be intimidated and not complain.
Problem I am having is, I want to make sure my charge nurses are Asian. That position is making $160K. But all 3 are whites. They like to boss the Asians around, and Asian's don't like that.
The Asians are also so respectful when they page me at 3am.
If I liked Asian women (I don't), my job would be heavenly
Out of 55 total employees, one we don't have is black. We will not, and never hire a black person.
Call me a racist, don't care. Its a fact. None of the partners will even interview one. At least I interview, and they always fail.
