Sun up again.

Still working on painting a room. Fucking sucks doing it piecemeal, squeezing in time after everyone goes to bed, or on the rare occasion there's a couple free hours during the day.

And the nearby Home Depot's color mixer died on Friday when I was getting some samples. Which A) means I need to go to the further Depot, and 2) I'm not even sure the samples I got are tinted right because the machine was obviously about to shit itself.

So my luck, I'll be re-repainting immediately after finishing.

Yeah, I'm using the Bear Markees. Funny, before I moved to Tejas, I wouldn't step foot in a Home Depot, I was Team Lowes because HD was such a shitshow.

But now, I'm not even sure where the nearest Lowes is. This here is flavor Home Depot country <whip cracks>.

And thus, Bear Marcus it is. Considering the last time I painted, I was barely above a starving college student, so I got I Can't Believe It's Paint or whatever was the cheapest. This shit goes on like butter.

So, the room I'm painting had this gawdawful Ralph Lauren Brown "Suede" paint, covering up this fugly as shit dark blue 20,000 leagues under the sea dark blue color that poked through at edges and got oopsed onto trim and light switches and shit.

I did some reading and found this killer primer that was supposed to one-coat cover that shit. But while I was prepping the room, I found out that the suede/crapfest was literally just peeling off the walls. So I scraped all the walls. Used the good primer since I already had it, did the ceiling for shits and giggles, and then threw up sample colors. The ceiling rolled on like a dream, and the sample colors went on beautifully.

I still despise the prep work, but damn does it make a difference in the final product.

Previous Owners were derp to the maximum though, and did fuckall for prep work when they painted that shit brown up. That's making my job twice as complicated. I should look them up and shit on their porch.

I had similar with my master bath, but one level up: while spot-filling some nail holes I found the existing plaster-texture surface bowing out oddly in two spots. I solved it by squirting superglue in and holding it flat for the 30 sec cure time. Then when I took off the mirror above the sink I found the root cause at the mounting tab areas- some absolute dipshit had primered and textured over what appears to be original 1960 ugly AF floral fucking wallpaper. I went over every inch and couldn't find any more spots where it had separated, so I said Fook Eet and went hard with thick waterproof enamel over everything - the texture actually helped keep the thick coats from running. Looks great, but I left the mounting tab evidence behind the mirror for whatever schmuck I trick into buying this POS peasant hovel when it's time to bounce.

All the 360 reflows were solid
One one PS3 reflows didn't work.. and it was mine.

Yeah, if I didn't have that sandpaper ass shit brown paint, I'd have just rolled over it with some good primer + paint. But I read that doesn't work with that shit sand paint.

When I peeled it off, the walls were down to drywall and texture so I wanted to seal it with primer. I'd rather spend a couple bucks more for primer rather than need to roll 2 or 3 coats because the wall sucks up more paint than MM on a Friday in Hattiesburg.

I don’t know what IG is trying to tell me but I’ve been receiving an influx of ads from ATX real estate agents. Do they want me to move there..

also in related ATX news, i wonder if people are still interested in watching the bats fly out from underneath the bridges nowadays

My co-worker told me he will let me drive his 2001 NSX. I’ve never been in a mid-engine, let alone drive one, because Poor.

I know once I drive it, I’ll fall in love and buy one. First, to finish the TLs.

Thats why I planned to build a mid-engine RWD TL-S.

I know once I drive Acura’s finest, I’ll fall in love and buy one. First, to finish the TLs.

My boost systems will work on it as well. You heard it here first!

Oh hells yeah, phase 2 is paying my local muffler shop to do that also. British guy who owns it has a 700-ish hp RB30 RHD Silvia and a 13B rotary pickup.
