Thought so... so that GMC Sierra that I bought a few years ago.
Found some random damage on the tailgate, taillight, and bumper one day in some big store parking lot. Got an estimate of $5k to repair, left it alone.
Recently with the used car market, decided to get it appraised and next thing you know it's no longer mine.
Made $3k, 3 years later.
