The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (ʎluO sɹǝsoo7)
I had difficulty sleeping last night. Kept thinking of this triggered memory; one time when I went to Arby's and got a double beef-n-cheddar but it dropped onto the floor and just sort of popped open.
Just... that image of the giant pile of roast beef all splayed open... It's stuck in my head now.

I can't. I just can't do that to another person... It's like the girl in the well from Ringu. I can't do it.
Besides, I've dropped my phone off at a church to be blessed and anointed with holy oil.

Sheeeittt... So first world problem story time...
A few years back, I was at Sams Club and totally impulse bought a Samsung LCD TV because it was so friggin cheap. Not huge, maybe a 32" or something, for the bedroom. I heaved off the 27" Sony Trinitron Tube TV from 2000 onto the floor and put the LCD in its place. But then the Sony just sat there for years, because I'm lazy AF and also thought I might be able to sell it to someone looking for a retro gaming TV (Because you can't play Duck Hunt on a newer TV).
Fast forward to last month, and the 60" Sony DLP TV I have in the living room is eating through bulbs like no other. Now it's almost every 90 days... so the wife gets fed up and goes to Wurst Buy and brings home a 75" Sony LED. It's tits.
But now I've got a 27" tube TV that must weigh 70 lbs, and a giant projection TV that is the size of a small vehicle.
And do you know how hard it is to get rid of dinosaur TVs these days?
Gawtdamn. Can't drop them off at a Goodwill. Thought Salvation Army would pick them up because they went through the neighborhood putting door tags saying they pick shit up, including TVs. But I scheduled a pickup, put the TVs out, and they just noped right by - later called the number and WTFd and the guy was like, "no, we only take flat screens". Motherfucker.
Trash company won't take it because it's considered "hazardous household waste" so I need to schedule a special pickup. Called them and they have no idea when they're going to do a pickup... could be months.
If I go drop it off at an electronics recycling place, it'll cost me like $30-50.
Thinking I might just take them to Galveston and dump them in the gulf so they can return to nature.
/CSB.
But RS143 got me thinking about keeping the little 27" TV to play Xcite Bike.

2) move to FL where you can literally put whatever you want on the curb and it gets taken either by bulk or by Fred Sanford.
