Reviews online point to several failures and cust service issues as well. Caveat emptor.

Hey Justin, you can test drive a Kia and get a free $25 Visa gift card
I'm sure you'll take this offer up.

They are so desperate to get people in their cars that they are paying you to test drive them.

either the optima with the turbo
or
the sportage with the turbo.
I think.
Suspension sucks on both tho.

I've owned a KIA, once. Sold it before it had 50k miles because the maintenance costs were killing me.
Door motor went out, alternator went out + new battery due to that, brakes were shot well before that. Fog light never worked, rear dvd player quit working. Thats just what I can remember off the top of my head.
Every panel I had to remove to fix stuff the tabs broke. Not the clips, but the piece of the panel that the clip attaches to. That was on the first try, and I have panel tools to avoid that problem. The dash was too hard to crack. Felt like metal.
I will pass.

Maj, every car has faults, you're picking the main ones that many people run into on here.
I'm sure if we went on a KIA forum they have problems just like any other car.
Let me ask you this, would you buy a KIA?

And before you say they have changed and are better now. They had a chance with me. First impressions, and they failed miserably.
I will not be returning to them. I strayed from Honda and got slapped in the face.
I will keep my pickups from Ford and cars/vans from Honda.
Hasn't done me wrong yet. Have had several Hondas well over 100k miles and my van has 210+K miles now and is driven every day. I have had an accord wagon with 256K miles. I did swap the tranny in my van Dec 2011, it lasted 85K miles longer than most I have read about on the internet.
Honda has not been known to have good A/T transmissions especially in early 2000's on the v6 models.
I have had a Ford Bronco II with 170K miles and my 2000 Ford F150 has 168K miles on it now with basic maintenance. And by that I mean spark plugs and fluid changes and brake jobs. No issues.
But to each their own.

Yep. I think Kia is going in the right direction. Unlike Honda.
Kia also backs up their vehicles with a 10 yr / 100k mile warranty.. no extra cost.
And compared to Saucy's issues.. TL takes the cake.

I agree with Maj here....KIA has gotten better 10000x....the TL has gotten worse...
KIA along with Hyundai, we POS's couple years back....but I think they company is headed in the right direction....they are making great changes to the car...the exterior styling for one (never thought i would call a Hyundai or a KIA, "sexy") but I have started to really like Koreans LOL

Test drove the 2.0T optima... Pretty quick! I'd rather spend my $37k elsewhere though. For 274hp, not bad at all

I don't really see anything so special about the Optima in any trim to be honest

Sargy!
Is the rebuild done? You rolling yet?
The big plus.. weight reduction.
I carry slime, plugs, and a kick ass air compressor.
I think Honda has become complacent. They need a kick in the ass. They scrap the v8, they scrap the turbo, uninspiring body design. The next gen should hopefully be better than the current.
