2007 tl type a auto tranny

Hi folks,
I have a question concerning my tranny. I have noticed that when I'm driving and let off of the gas that the rpm's don't come down at all, acts like the torque converter is always locked up. But as soon I put the tranny in neutral and shift it back into drive the rpm's stay down, until I get back into the gas pedal. Is this normal? I thought that once you let off of the gas pedal that the rpm's would drop.

well before, my car would normally shift to lower the rpms (with light acceleration) but now my car does what you just described. But my car shifts though. It just takes longer than usual

Mine is doing the exact same thing.... I just hit 30K and will be performing the tranny fluid flush probably sometime this next week. I have just noticed lately that when driving normaly my RPMS will go up to about 2800 and hover before shifting (hard) when it would normally shift in the low 2000's. It seems to mostly happen within the 4th and 5th gear shifting... I will talk to the dealer about this when the do the flush and hopefully they will be able to tell me something

Thats weird. It normally happens to me when i'm just cruising around at about 30mph. Its like it gets stuck in 2nd gear for a while then it shifts to 3rd.
Sometimes i use sport shift to up shift because it lags in Drive

I'm assuming the OP has a type-s, in which case the tranny is supposed to stay at a lower gear for various reasons. One is that you can let off the gas to brake into a corner and then exit with the same gear.
