That's what they say (including some members here), but I'll find out for myself next week. One source I trust also said the ride was better, with almost no change in handling. Overall, the '07 appears to be a very nice update.

It is. I have one. NBP. 6mt TL-S. The car is smoother and more quiet than the pre years. One is the active noise cancellation. It listens to the cab and puts out a sound from the speakers 180 degree's out of phase. A big improvement in my book.

What does the noise cancellation exactly do? puts out what kind of sound from the speakers?

it puts out the same sound it hears in the cab of the car and puts it 180 degree's out of phase from my understanding. When that is done it almost cancels out the sound. Works like the noise cancel headphones you by in the store. Your car is not silent but there is a noticeable diff in the cab.

I'm sure this has already been covered in this thread but now at 114 pages long I wasn't going to look. I did a search and didn't get anything...

My question: What's with the RED lighting on the inside? ITS HIDEOUS!!! I LOVED all the blue accents in my 2004. Why the change?? Anyone else dislike this as much as I do? Reminds me of a Nissan.

I was hoping to get into Type-S mid next year, but red lighting turned me off completely and I snagged 2006 leftover 6MT with Navi today! The red interior reminds me of too many bad things and I personally hate it.

Yes I too HATE the red and LOVED the blue very very much. The non-S Type still has blue lighting though.

Also, the new Infiniti went to blue lighting with the 2007 model.

I stopped in to the dealer yesterday, and inquired about a Type S. All in all I love everything about the car, but the wheels. They said they would be happy to put the base 07 wheels on the car at the low low price of $2200. I'll see if other dealers sing the same tune.

i'm not sure why they'd charge so much for a swap of the base wheels.

if i were you i'd just try and trade the wheels with someone on here that has the base TL. that way you'd at least get some money(or not have to pay anything) out of it instead of paying more for 'em

What happens to the type-S rims ? They either go on a base TL or just lie around collecting dust. What happens if the person interested in the base TL with type-S rims doesn't like them and asks why that TL doesn't have the better looking standard rims which by the way some people here are not too crazy about. I don't think most dealers want to deal with that headache. Maybe if enough people ask for it, Acura will work something out (making the base TL rims "optional") but until then, don't expect an easy/cheap swap solution from your local dealer. Unless, you have a special relationship with them or they're hard up.

Stopped into a dealer today to check out the S. Definitely a nice car, and I love that Carbon Bronze Pearl.

The salesman gave me the key and let me play with the Nav and the audio. The new graphics are cool and I discovered one thing Acura still left out that still resides in the Accord Nav system......

AN INSTANTANEOUS MILES PER GALLON GUAGE !!

I was very interested in the TL-S until I saw the red lighting. I have a huge preference for the blue lighting found on the regular TL. Plus, I like the regular TL's wheels better. So, I'll be buying a standard TL, even though, if not for the red lighting and wheels, I'd prefer the TL-S.

Drove it mad...

I had a chance to drive a '07 TL-S last night in Chesapeake, VA (Priority). It was pretty sweet! I didn't like the concept of RED dash but when I saw it I realized it had been tastefully done, not like the mid-90 Pontiacs. It's more of a red accent on the cluster and the information cluster on top of the center vents.

The car was driven by the salesman first (had to run an errand) so all I got was "hold on" time. I drove it back the 1/2 mile and it drove and sounded great. Once I started seeing all of the differences b/w old and new I realized why it cost that much more. 11.5% increase in power and 9% torque. You really have to look at all of the changes in the technology to appreciate the differences. I keep asking myself why it has taken Acura so long to step up to the other players but they sure made a statement with the Type-S.

Anyway, I snagged the salesman's brochure, too. Out of his hand, not like I took it w/o him knowing. By the way, the front Grille is chrome, but I'm told it is bigger than the '04-'06. I do like the honeycomb in it and the lower intake better than just the black bars in the older models.

I've seen interest in the keys. I'm interested too! I think you would have to remove the actual key from the new fob and replace with an old one w/o the plastic Acura part. Probably going to have to have some cut out and tested.

I definately liked the new Nav setup. The screen has tabs (like Firefox web) on the audio page. The Nav Traffic is cool, too. Gotta live in one of the 44 cities, though.

Liked the new stereo, too. MP3, Dolby II, CD Text, Backup Camera. It's all good.

Don't like the wheels. It alreay screams "modded". I'm a stock guy on the outside with a few tasteful yet discrete changes.

I test drove the Type-S today too, and it was SWEET!!!!!! I heard from the salesman that the regular TL for 2007 taps out at 140 mph (speed governor) and that there is no speed governor on the Type-S and it will go up to 160 mph and maybe tap out there.... Does anyone here know if this is true? If I'm not wrong, the 04-06 TL taps out at like 152 mph or something.

Well guys, I was toying with replacing my beloved 04 TL with either a new Type S or an Infiniti G35. Drove the G35 and liked it but didn't love it, especially because of the still-inferior interior design. (Butt ugly dashboard.)

That night I got a mailing from my Acura dealer with all the leftover '06's on sale. They had one brand new RL marked down over $10,000 to $39,300!!! I just couldn't pass that up, esp. since my trade-in brought it down to $33,500!

I've had it only a few days but it's truly fabulous. Drives like a dream with SH-AWD and paddle shifters. Love it. Maybe not quite as sporty as the TL, but a great size and a tremedous value at that price.

BIANCA TL (now SCARLET RL)

I will note that my trade-in did not bring as much $$$ as I expected. My 36 month old car with 36,000 miles, in great condition, brought only $20,000.

The down payment was probably the difference between the trade-in value and her car loan balance.

I certainly hope so.

But $20k for a nice 2004? Hmm. $5000 a year depreciation.

"My" dealer quoted giving me $27,000 for the '06 TL Navi, 7000miles that I bought for $32,587 back at the end of May. I was hoping for atleast $29,000 at a minimum, but as long a they've got '06 TL on the lot for near $30k new, I'm screwed.

Maybe by year end, the '06s will be gone and they'll discount the '07s for year end sales...

Yes, I like what they did to the '07s, especially the Type-S, that I want one, but not for the difference of $12,000.

I live in Central Florida and the color is Alabaster Silver. The dealership I bought it from, and was hoping get a "deal" from on an '07, but they currently have six (6) '06 Alabaster Silver w/ Navi TL's.

I saw a 07 TLs @ the dealer today...after the dealer closed...but it was slightly raining and the car had the drops on it...NBP, looked real sweet...I am thinking about trading in my 05 6MT -- anyone have official pricing offers from dealers yet?

Most won't budge from MSRP, but if you get the right guy to deal with you might have a good chance to shave some off...

When I test drove the 07 TL-S, the dealer offered me $21000 for my 05 NBP TL w/Navi. And the TL-S was $42000 out the door.

Why are the kinetic blue w/ taupe models are hard to find in SD. Also autotrader could be listing the 5AT models as 6MT. Or maybe there are more 6MT than 5AT. It could be using the wrong model code.

2006/2007 TL rattles?

Several user reviews (e.g., in the Consumer Reports users section) mention rattles on earlier TL models. Is this a problem with the 2006/2007 models?

2006 here. Ive got almost 9k miles and my car is very quiet inside. Only rattle I have ever heard came from my stupid radar detector mounting bracket.

So, you are happy with your lease because you think you are getting some kind of deal? You have driven 9K mi on your vehicle? Sounds like you are driving towards a fleece rather than a lease.

Okay this thread has gone way beyond its limit. We have so many 07 threads now I think we can put this one to rest.

Not bad for 3G.
