What problems does the 04 TL have? Thinking of trading mine in!

 

Trading in your 04 TL? Or another car FOR a 04 TL? I see you have been on this forum a bit, so just wondering why you're asking that basic question.

 

I'm confused........would you trade yours in if YOU have problems with it?

 

I have had minor issues but nothing to cause me to trade it in.

 

I'll be posting my one-year report (detailed as usual) this weekend, so keep posted for my issues (nothing big). I agree with the other guys--could you clarify? We'd be able to help you a little better if you did.

I got my 04 TL auto with Navi in March. I have had no mechanical problems with the car. I hated the Bridgstone EL42 tires and upgraded to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I would suggest negotiating for a change of tires at the time you buy. I have had a minor occasional problem with my bluetooth phone temporarily freezing my MID display. Simply hitting the phone buttion followed by the cancel button corrects this every time. I have not had the rattles or creaks that some have complained of on this forum. I am extremely happy with the car.

My only real complaint about the car is that that the headrests create huge blind spots which, IMO, cannot adequately be covered by the side mirrors. I have adjusted to this issue but you really don't tend to notice cars driving into your blind spots the way you can on many cars.

I love the DVD Audio, even thought there isn't enough choice in discs, the bluetooth phone link is amazing, the navi system (which I bought for fun) has turned out to be very useful and the car has a lot of power and if a blast to drive. Everyone who sees it is impressed especially when I tell the BMW owners how little it cost compared to their cars.

This is the car I have enjoyed owning the most.

 

CAR IS A LEMON. WAIT FOR SOME MAJOR DRIVELINE ISSUES TO BE IRONED OUT. SEE ALL POSTS REGARDING VIBRATIONS. TIRES ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. I AM GOING TO ARBITRATION NEXT WEEK TO GET MY MONEY BACK. 4th HONDA Motor CO Vehicle. WILL NOT BUY AGAIN.

 

After one year this month - zero problems. I visited the dealer once for an oil change and 1 hour transmission fix.

 

Do You Have Auto Or Stick. Mine Started Vibrating At 700 Miles So It Appears Something Is Coming Apart. Make Sure You Document Everything.

 

Zero problems, 10 months/12000 miles. One oil change - three tire rotations (do them myself) Zip nada nothing else.
I think the 6MTs and HPT tires have had less problems.

 

So far everyone just stares when I come to a red light (hot black car).. hopefully that will be the only "problem" I have.

 

I agree. The Bridgestones are awful. As soon as I get a chance, I'm switching to Michelin. Why Acura decided to break with tradition and put Bridgestones is beyond me. If ain't broke, don't fix it.

And those blindspots are huge. The headrests don't need to be that big. I have to check three times every time I move to the left lane.

 

Thus far, none of the "typical" problems at all here. The car is smooth, smooth, smooth. No vibrations, rattles, flatspotting, etc. It's fast, quiet, smooth and a total joy to drive! I still smile every time I climb in....heading for 8k miles, probably will hit it tomorrow.

 

Every manufacturer produces lemons, sadly that is the nature of the beast. I hope it all works out for you though and you get want makes you happy.
I currently have 4 Honda products and couldn't be happier with all of them. Guess I'm just lucky.

 

Just turned 1800 miles….....No PROBLEMS, nuttin honey !!! All autos have some occasional problems. Be careful with all the info you read here….....take it with that pervialible “grain of salt”.

Remember your car and mileage WILL very. Acura makes one fine damn auto !!!! If you buy one you will enjoy it.
