'04/'05 vs '07 hood lifts the same?

Are the hood lifts the same for the 04/05 TL compared with the 07?

I have an 07, and the ones being sold online (here where I am in Canada) are 04/05 and don't say anything about fitting the 07.

On Amazon from ARANA, it specifically shows that the 04/05 part will not fit my 07 Base TL...but that's probably totally dependent on whether the vendor set up their website properly.

Thanks!

Different numbers OEM:
'04/'05 74145-SEP-A01 $33.66
'06/'08 74145-SEP-H01 $28.61

If you look at RockAuto they also have different numbers:
Sachs SG365001 '06/'08 $11.78
Sachs SG326009 '04/'05 $12.85
Monroe 901709 '04/'05 $11.08

However, RockAuto has one that lists application for all years:
AMS AUTOMOTIVE 6351 '04/'08 $12.81

Did some research and find that as we know, the hoods/fenders are the same, but also the hood hinges and lift studs are the same for all 3G.
So, can't see why the lifts can't be used/interchanged throughout all 4G's.

They should fit as '06/'08 are the same from the factory.
The original question was, will the '04/'05 work on an '07.

These are the ones I have on my TL (this is from amazon.ca for the canadians)

StrongArm 6351 Acura TL 2004-05 Hood Lift Support, Pack of 1, Lift Supports - Amazon Canada StrongArm 6351 Acura TL 2004-05 Hood Lift Support, Pack of 1, Lift Supports - Amazon Canada

You only need one of them as they are bloody strong. I put two and if I let my hood go up on its own it feels like its going to break off.

FYI they are also interchangeable i.e. right side fits left and left side fits right.

Simple, but just make certain you have something to hold the hood up before removing the support.

Installation is really quick, 5 minutes

I went with the StrongArm (Amazon) ones over the OEM Stabilus ones (Rockauto).

I never understood why some people order parts that are rather trivial than to just pick them up from your local autoparts? Just wondering.....

Sachs/Lift Support SG326009 - Read Reviews on Sachs #SG326009

Plus for an extra $2-$3 you get lifetime warranty.

I believe it's mainly the fact that we're (a few in this thread, including the OP) are from Canada and availability of parts are not like US and prices alone, are not like US. We also don't have shops like Autozone.
Mainly we have places like NAPA (expensive) and CarQuest (expensive too).

Autozone = $24 USD, equals $33.44 without shipping and duties and taxes.

Amazon.ca = $29.99 CAD free shipping for StrongArm.
Rockauto = Same price, but not StrongArm (I hear StrongArm is best?)

I hope that explains our reasoning buddy

Like Turbonut stated make sure you have your hood supported (by stick or person) as if it drops on your head it will hurt.

Heres a good video on how to replace it

Imagine if the hood latch part fell on your head while you're bent over the engine (hood has more travel time than if you're standing), almost happen to me when my lifts were going out

Stuck up my elbow real quick while hands were still fiddling with front engine mount.
