RLX Sightings
I spotted a CBP pre-2018 RLX Sport Hybrid on I-77 north in Cleveland about ten minutes ago on my way into work today. I know it wasn’t my old one because that one was sold again on the East Coast. Glad to see one!
Was driving west on I-66 out of D.C. around 11:45 AM today and was passed by a 2014-2017 RLX hybrid with Virginia license plates that later took the exit to Dulles. The car was the same color combination as mine. Dark gray with ebony interior. I noted the camber of its rear wheels as being a bit BMW-ish. Interesting.
Because of the locations of assembly plants, you will see these new cars on Route 29: Corvette, GMC, Cruze, Cadillac SUV, Ford trucks, Jeep Wrangler, Honda Accord, Acura TLX, Acura NSX, Acura RDX, Acura MDX, Volvo, BMW SUV.
This makes Route 29 an even more entertaining drive, sometimes. :-)
It can be a speed trap in some areas from the NC state line up to around Charlottesville. Especially those hilly areas where the cops can just sit in the median turn lane areas and wait for you to come barreling over a hill. Been there, done that.
I've never been stopped along there, and I am almost always 10 over in the rural sections.
To me a speed trap is any area where you tend to just roll along not really paying attention to how fast you are driving, and where the local law authorities tend to sit a prey upon your lack of attention. Quite common on rural highways through small towns. Exactly what Rte 29 in VA happens to be in my opinion.
I'm thinking if purchasing one. Why did you sell yours?? Thanks
Saw two today within a 15 minute period here in the suburbs of Raleigh. Both black 2018's. Didn't get close enough to see what versions they were. One was heading into the heart of Holly Springs, NC on Main St. The other was cruising southbound on the NC-540 otherwise known as the Triangle Expressway. A rare sighting indeed.
My long tale of woe here.....but do not let that stop you from procuring a RLX SH, it's an amazing car!

Saw two 2018 RLX Sport-Hybrid's in one day. I drive about 60 miles each day, but spotting two in one day in the same town.. WOW! Both purchased at St.Louis area dealerships: Dave Mungenast and Frank Leta. They are selling fairly well around here. I've seen a total of 10 2018's in the area since its November launch.

Kingofire - I saw a white RLX over there on Route 1 the other day too so it was one of you two guys. I drive a black PAWS advance. I've only seen 3 or 4 in the RI/ southern MA area in the 16 months I've owned and I didn't think I've ever seen a SH around here.
Nice first post. And Welcome!
Nice first post indeed! It probably wasn't me because that was the first RLX I have seen. I usually stick around N. Attleboro area but do venture out to North and East Providence. I'll keep my eye out for your car and let you know if I see you!
Wow, while Im not a fan of those BBS wheels (too overstated), I definitely dig the lowered stance. Makes the body design pop really well and makes it feel wider and tougher without looking all broken and silly (slammed).
Also helps get's rid of that bubbly "upside down bathtub" feel that the RLX body design still carries too much of for me.

I live in Pearland, TX (suburb south of Houston) and I see several 2014 RLXs driving around. Mine has black rims and debadged rear, so people have asked what kind of car it was since all that's left is the Acura emblem. Kinda fun that way....I know I would go nuts if I saw a nice car on the road but couldnt tell what it is.
My 2018 Spottings. All were spotted within the St.Louis, MO area. I see about 3 RLX's a week on my 48 mile journey to and from work each day.

Yes, I traded out early for the TLX A-Spec. Long post about issues I had is somewhere on the forum. It was just my car and not a widespread problem with the Sport Hybrid, and I still like the platform.
Other than the awful ZF9 transmission (kill it with fire!
), the TLX is pretty solid. I only miss the rear seat space and hybrid drivetrain, and the former is mostly because I sometimes drive my elderly mother-in-law around. She LOVED my RLX and rues the day I moved to a TLX.
