iOS update for CarPlay

there was an iOS update that included CarPlay fixes. I have an iPhone XS and updated the iOS. Since then I have noticed a few things:

no random disconnects from CarPlay where I have to unplug and plug back in The phone

when stopping the car and turning it off with the iPhone connected via wired usb, it retains the connection when i start back up so no more unplugging and plugging back in.

when taking a call or doing anything else on the phone that would cause the infotainment to switch sources or whatnot, when the task is completed it goes immediately back to what it was doing beforehand. So no longer need to select the last source or flip back and forth to get it to come back.

seems like apple fixed the main issues people were having. I recommend updating your iOS regardless of device. I think this was for the X, XS, and XR mainly though.

Here is an article on the Bug Fixes for this latest update, and yes it does stop the Car Play disconnect issue.

so it looks like disconnects were related to the iphones firmware and not as much Acura at least for the last gen phone models

yup so maybe That will put out some of the fire directed at Acura for these particular issues 😆

My X still disconnects intermittently as often as it did before the iOS update.

have you replaced the usb cable and are you using an apple approved cable? I had bad disconnect issues which I narrowed down to the cable. But still had some after replacing it. Since the iOS update though it’s been solid

Yup. I'm on the public beta, and my infotainment system froze up despite having this new iOS version... Give it a few weeks, the complaints will return.

I had a two hour drive home today because of all of the snow hitting my area. I decided to try play music through ACP, and surprisingly, I didn't experience any disconnects. It could be because I decided to use the Apple Music app instead of Vox.

I'm a happy camper once again.

@jonarogers And as a BETA tester you are aware the differences between a beta version and a release version?
