I was wondering if the existing Audio/Nav systems installed in 2016 Acura MDX will be eligible for upgrade to the Systems with Apple Carplay I see that Apple Carplay is available in 2017+ models. Will there ever be a chance that I can upgrade to this unit in my 2016 Acura MDX?

I spoke today to an Acura representative and he said that Acura might or might not have Carplay on older MDX's (I have NDX 2016) after they test the Carplay on Android on the 2019 RDX. He said it will come to the Acura owners as an upgrade notice or a recall. He said maybe in a couple of month or so. He does not recommend 3rd party like Nav Tools due to warranty issues.

 

any idea whether there is any update or solution on this matter. Because i am really keen on having apple carplay on my 2015 MDX but i too dont want to buy navtools because
1. its way over priced
2. i dont want to void my warranty

 

I received an email a while back that this is not going to happen and they left it at that. I have 2016 MDX.
