2019 RDX Maintenance Minder Reset

Just took my car in today for its first service (A1). My dealer is not convenient to where I live, but bought it there due to a good deal via Costco. On my way home, I toggled through the menu to the maintenance section and saw that they had not reset the maintenance minder. I do not want to go back just to get the minder reset, so thought I would do it myself, but after some searches here, have not found how to do it. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Go to infotainment "Home" menu, "Settings", "Vehicle", "Maintenance Information", and select "Reset all due".
This instruction is in the owner's manual.

Do you think the maintenance minder really checks your engine oil to determine its life? Or does it just go by mileage? If you reset it when your oil life was at 20% and didn’t change the oil, would it start at 100% and slowly count back as if you really did change the oil? Or would it rather quickly drop back to 20% after it had a chance to check it?

Just curious... I wouldn’t do it to my car.

It uses an algorithm based on engine rpm, load, mileage, temps etc to figure out the oil life, doesn’t use a sensor, if you reset then it goes to 100%

I just had my first oil change done on my 2020 RDX. The maintenance minder had just dropped from 15% down to 10%. I had 11200 KM ( 6959 miles).

The quick lube place offered an oil/filter package with semi-synthetic oil (0W-20) for $63 and a package with full-synthetic for $93.

When I had the 2016 RDX with the V6, I always required an oil change at about 8000 KM. Considering the 2020 has a turbo, and runs at a higher RPM i was surprised to see the range on the 2020 actually increase to 11000 KM. This got me to thinking that the maintenance minder algorithm might be based on the owner using the better quality oil (full-synthetic).

What oil do you recommend to be used when both oils meet the requirements of the owners manual "API Premium-grade 0W-20 detergent oil"? The owners manual does not even mention the word synthetic! Does the word "Premium-grade" perhaps imply full-synthetic?

Just to be safe I chose the full-synthetic. I have owned the RDX for 4 months now, so the extra cost is just $7.50 a month for the peace of mind.

I run mobil1 advanced full synthetic, costs $28 for 5 quarts, sometimes you can get it for about $23

I just brought my 2020 RDX in for an oil change. Oil life was at 15%. Oil life is now at 100%, but seemed like the technician/dealer didn't reset the maintenance minder. It was showing B. I reset it from Settings >> Vehicle >> Maintenance menu. However, now it's showing A, and I can't reset it. It still shows after reset. Any idea what's going on? I checked the oil level and it's in between the high/low marks on the oil stick.

When it was showing "B" it was telling you that it was due for oil and filter change, tire rotation, brake inspection, parking brake adjustment and other necessary inspections.

The "A" that it is showing you now, is indicating that when the next service becomes due, you will need to only change the oil. (See LINK ). The codes are also explained on the AcuraLink app if you have it.

Your maintenance minder will pop up at 15% remaining, but as long as you get the work done before 0% it should not affect your warranty.

Do not attempt to reset this code any more, because each time you do, the RDX thinks that you have just changed the oil, and it assumes the oil is brand new on the date you attempted the reset. If you keep doing this you will have no idea of when to actually go in for servicing, because you keep resetting the MM to 100%.

That's just it. I just took it into the dealership because it was showing B. They changed the oil, oil filter, and performed inspections. Still showing B when I got home, so I reset it. Now it's showing A. I need to do another oil change? Will give the dealership a call on Monday.

The "A" that is showing is what your next service will be when the Oil Life reaches 15%. It will most likely change to a "B" and numbers will be added (such as 1 to rotate ties) as you add miles and the oil life decreases to 15%. Nothing to worry about now.
