Total width with mirrors

I tried searching, but didn't see this one. Does anyone know the actual width of the RDX WITH the side mirrors? I'm looking for an actual measurement, not a guess. I don't know why Honda/Acura doesn't list this. I would think anyone needing to know the width would need it with the mirrors too.

I think the specs only list the body dimensions, not including the mirrors - 74.8". I've never seen the total width including the mirrors on any car.

But the mirrors are quite large. I have a standard 8' single garage but the opening is probably not 96" because there's the door jam and aluminum capping. When I pull into the garage, I have to have the car dead center because there is no more than 3-4" on either side of the mirrors.

I know you said you didn't want a guesstimate but 84-86" is the best I can do. There's no way to measure it with a tape measure.

Appreciate the response regardless. I'm not sure why manufacturers don't list it with the mirrors. I'm stumped why why they think anyone would need to know the width without the mirrors.

I have a condo and the garage is small, only 90 inches wide. I'll need to go to the dealership with a tape measure, but thought someone here might already have it from being in a similar situation.

I've already mangled the aluminum capping on one side of garage with a mirror. Fortunately, no damage at all to the mirror.

My first gen Pilot was much roomier but a lot easier to get in the garage. Weird.

Yeah I may have to move or reconsider the RDX. The problem is nobody lists the widths I need for any cars.

Did some searching myself and came up with the same results. Sorry! It looks like they all just repeat what Acura publishes. I can go out and measure how far the mirrors stick out in a little while if you’d like.

Have you considered folding in the mirrors when you garage it? I know it is a pain since they are manually folded. I garage my F150, and this is what I need to do to fit through the garage door.

Thank you! That's be great if you would measure for me. I'm sure others will need it too. I've considered manually folding the mirrors. Not ideal obviously, but it's an option.

with the mirrors out, they stick out about 6” beyond the door. Folded in, about an inch.

I have an 8 foot wide garage door opening. The width of the RDX at the mirrors was a big concern for me also since the vehicle does not have electronic folding mirrors.. I went to the dealership and measured the width myself. 91.5".

With two people, and a tape measure...and with both front door windows open, we should be able to measure this distance...through the car. I'll see if my wife can help me do this measure for you when she gets home from work this evening.

Really?! Agh! Thank you for the info. Time to reevaluate.

Get a broomstick or long pole
Find some tape or a marker.
Place broomstick beside one side mirror. Mark the ground where it touches.
Place broomstick or long pole next to the other side mirror. Mark it on the ground.

Get in vehicle.
Turn ignition on.
Back up vehicle.
Turn ignition off.
Get out of vehicle.

Now - measure the distance between the two markers on the ground with a tape measure.

That seems like it would work as well as anything.

I just measured from outside one mirror to the outside of the other 86".

I'm not sure how the other poster got 91.5"

86" seems about right.

The OP says his opening is 90" so that's kinda tight. He'd have to really nail it every time, especially backing out. But doable.

My mistake. The 91.5" is the width of my garage door opening. I measured again today and got 86.5" for the width at the mirrors. Sorry for the mistake.
