Spot Mirrors

I am thinking about putting spot mirrors on both mirrors. I've never had heated mirrors before and I'm not sure if putting spots on the mirrors will effect or harm them in any way.

Anyone have any thoughts/opinions?

I have thought about this also, there is a major blind spot...

Why spot mirrors? If it is to eliminate the blind spot, proper mirror adjustment will do that.

I have always been able to get my mirrors adjusted properly, but on this car, despite my best efforts, there is still a blind spot on the driver's side.

My only real beef with this car is the mirrors. I know it wouldn't look as good, but I believe they need to be a bit bigger.

agreed, proper adjustment of the side mirrors removes the need for convex mirrors

Cubanaso is right. I switched to this method many years ago and it really works. The combination of mirrors lets you see everything around you. It takes some getting used to but once you get comfortable with it you don't have anymore blind spots. I have limited sight in my right eye and have to be extra careful. Give it a try.

I've taken several advanced driving classes and have learned how to adjust my mirrors correctly so that there is no repetitiveness with the space in the mirrors. When my mirrors are properly adjusted, I still have a blind spot. Had an 03 Maxima with spots and I primarily used them instead of the regular mirrors. Just uncertain if the spot mirrors will effect the regular mirror at all.

Thanks for posting. I have mine set up this way, but maybe I need to do some adjusting. I have had one or two close calls where someone came up quickly alongside me (on the left) at the same time I was preparing to change lanes; only the fact that I always give a look back over my shoulder prevented a big problem. (None of this is helped by the fact that the SH-AWD changes lanes in a nanosecond if you ask it to do so).
