Side mirrors???

Can someone tell me in detail how to remove and reattach our side mirrors?

Mine got fucking swiped today and the casing is off but the mirror itself is still attached. I'd much rather see if i cant fix this myself before having to pay out the ass to get it taken care of. the mirror is basivally useless til its remounted and i cant have that.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Well, got the whole thing apart and its now sitting on my table in pieces. There one long plastic piece that sits in the shell, and it hold the mirror and the electronis on it. the edges of it or busted off the part that attachs it to the shell, keeping the shell on the car.

So, i've cleaned it all up, and im now im going through and jb welding everything back together in hopes this will fix it, but im afraid if i ever take it through a car wash it might bust again.

I'm going to try and find the actual part in the interim. BUT its the one peice on here http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...prddisplay.jsp no fricking listed with a number.

which blows cause i dont want to spend a full 100 to get all the pieces i already have. guess we'll have to wait see....

And another thing, this could have been avoided provided these cars has breakaway mirrors.

my 85 bimmer had them, as well as my 89 accord and 89 prelude.

So why the fuck doesnt a car built in 98/99 have fucking breakaways!?! I always hated that fact, and knew somehow it would bite me in the ass. Fucking cheap asses, even its twin accord coupe has breakaways.

venting.....

I didn't do it yet but I do have a cracked mirror cover. It is still on but not painted. But from post I have been reading you can use accord ones (u can fold in), including the accord ones that made to look like the m3 ones. From ebay auctions non-powerd unpainted go for about 40 bucks a pair. On post powered ones goes for like 90. Something to think about before replaceing.

1st gen, 99, black see sig.

been looking at acuraautomotiveparts.com. The one part i need does not have a number. The shell is fine, chipped where it was nailed. its the internal plastic arm that attached to the car and hold teh mirror. it runs through the shell and anchors the shell onto the cars. pretty fucking cheap design actually.

fushion - so you're saying i can but 6th gen accord mirrors and use those?

I want to do this cheap, fuck if the price was right on an STi i was about to trade this thing in and get away with not fixing it at all, let them deal with it.
