I have a 2019 RDX that make a thumping noise about every 10 seconds through the gas and brake pedal. Has anyone else noticed this?

There's not much helpful information here, but someone else may have experienced this too:Originally Posted by Psmorris

Thanks for the info. For the smart a***** on that thread, you don't have to have your foot on the brake pedal to hear it. It is very noticable and annoying with the audio turned off.

The OP in that thread specifically said it was when in P and with foot on the brake pedal. Sounds like your problem is different.Originally Posted by Psmorris

Perhaps you could be more specific. Does it happen all the time or just while driving? Or only when parked? Is it the same interval regardless of speed?

I’ve never noticed anything like that but next time I drive I’ll look for it. Offhand it sounds like it could be a hydrolic pump keeping pressure up, which may mean it’s losing pressure (leaking). But what do I know, I learned everything I know about engines from working on a CAT 3208 and the in-line 6 in my first car, a 1968 Chevy Malibu.

Do we have variable displacement compressors that don't clutch on and off? Originally Posted by Taz69

Thanks but that's not it ether. I turned the a/c off and it still thumped.
