Not the sharpest knife in the drawer Vicky, have a veh. w/ a lease ending soon but was going to turn it in to an Acura dealer for a leased RDX, can you 'splain how your trans. worked w/ CarMax etc?

Carmax or any dealer can purchase a leased vehicle. I went to Carmax, they evaluated the car, I accepted their price. Then they used their system to connect to Honda and obtained the Purchase price. Carmax offer - Honda Payoff = 4k. Got a check.

Just noticed that this thread hasn't updated for over 2 months now. Has everyone just stopped buying RDX '20-'21 and just waiting on the mmc refresh?

Perhaps a result of low inventory due to the chip shortage? Just a guess.

Just signed on a 2021 RDX Tech in white with beige interior. None on the ground in Massachusetts. We signed before the dealer even had the car. Also got top money for a trade but these numbers were established before the trade was brought into the deal.

MSRP $44,825
discount $3,925
conquest $1,500

Greetings everyone,

Kicking myself for not finding this forum before we purchased a brand new 2021 Acura RDX Advance.

2021 RDX Advance SHAWD:
MSRP: $49,725
Dealer Fees: $582
Discount: -$3,500
------------------
SUB TTL: $46,807
TTT: $2,808
-----------------
OTD: $49,615

Put 1/2 down the rest through Acura Finance.
Probably should have done zero down . . . then 1/2 down for the $2.5k additional discount?

Please let me know I did not get the shaft too bad!

I have a lease offer from a dealer for $574/month, taxes included, on a '21 RDX w/A-Spec and SH-AWD with a MSRP of $48,725.

Lease terms are 36/10 with $0 down (paying 1st month and DMV fees upfront; taxes rolled into lease) Thoughts? Too high? Too low? About right...?

This is in Chicago, IL where you're double-taxed if the vehicle is registered in the city.

Truecar.com is reporting $4-7k off MSRP depending on the trim in Chicagoland. I only looked at Tech and Advance both AWD with Tech receiving higher discount.

Swift - What Dealer was this? Wondering if you "Stole" my Wife's RDX!?
We did a deal for same vehicle at SunnySide in Nashua - not quite this good but shes happy. No one else had this combo, or weren't offering any discount from MRSP.

Is that including manufacture rebate or straight dealer discount?

Acura of Boston. Picked up two cars from them 2 days apart. They did "make a mistake" of nearly $1000 in the selling price on the finance paperwork. My gf had already signed it but I caught it before the documents were handed back to the finance manager. Whether or not it was intentional or not, something like this should not happen.

OK so we're cool - didn't take mine
Acura of Boston would not quote me! I told them i was buying this weekend (last). They wouldn't give me a price because they had none on the ground - advertised were "in-transit". I suspect they didn't want to sell themselves short making any deals because inventory is going to be tough through summer.
The cars looks great! Good Luck w/them. I'm waiting to see what the new ILX replacement will be - otherwise likely getting into a small truck or TLX next - replacing my '14 accord when its time to move on...i cant decide if i want to truck or another sedan...both isnt an option for me :-)

2021 SH-AWD Tech (NH)

Hey everyone,
Wanted to share our deal from last week. I wanted to do better, but also had some urgency to get the vehicle, dealers aren't cutting pricing my much right now. Also learned quickly for this combo; within 100 miles of me is slim to none. - Acura showed 5 in transit to dealers; some when i called had already sold the allocation.

2021 RDX SH-AWD Tech | White Ext./Parchment Int.
MSRP $44,825
Discount $2,664
Conquest $1,000 (2012 Honda Trade-in)
Sale Price $41,161

Beyond that, details don't matter much. $499 Doc fee; We hit middle of the road for expected trade in, and had money saved to go to a new car. Financed the rest through our bank @ 2.2%
End of the day, we are happy w/ the deal & Dealer. (SunnySide Acura - Nashua NH) Most important -the Wife is happy with her new ride

new_mdx, can I ask what dealer quoted $3500 off MSRP near Philadelphia? I checked with a dealer west of Philly, only quoted $600 off MSRP. Thanks.

A few yrs back when I was looking, Pohanka Acura gave me the best quote and thats not too far from PA. Same thing in 2010 when I bought a Honda....I used Pohanka Honda and got a super price.,...But with the current chip shortage, they prob dont have to be as aggressive price wise

New to forum, thought I would share my deal as I used the info I found here to negotiate my deal. Thanks!

2021 SH-AWD with Tech package. Fathom Blue Pearl with Greystone interior

MSRP: $44,325.00
Options:$1,495 (wheel locks, rear cargo all weather mat, Auto Butler paint sealant, mud flaps)
Total asking price: $45,820.00

Final negotiated price:

$39,905.00 (Including options listed above. About 12.9% off $45,820 or 9.9% off the MSRP of $44,325)
Dealer fees$999.00 (would not budge)
Taxes: $1,634.73
License, transfer fees, etc: $546.00 (came down a little from their initial offer)
Trade allowance: $15,200.00

OTD: $27,884.73 ($43,084.73 W/O trade)

Did not qualify for any discounts except a $500 Acura finance discount which is included.

As someone else note above, certain vehicles are difficult to come by due to the chip shortage. My wife was set on a Blue Pearl with Grey interior and I wanted the AWD. This is only the 2nd one of these I have seen in Florida for about 4-5 months and I had to drive about 75 miles to get it.

They treated me O.K. on the trade. That $15,200 saved me $987 in taxes. That's the same as me netting $16,187 if I sold it myself and I didn't have to bother with it. Autotrader shows vehicles comparable to my trade in advertised *at dealers* for $16K - $$19K (What they actually sell for who knows, but the dealer does have to make a profit to stay open)

One note about the Acura financing.......I have read on this forum that you can pay it off any time, that isn't true. There is a minimum finance amount of $15K and you have to keep the loan for 6 months or be assessed a $75 fee for paying it off early, that is written in the Acura contract (Not really a big deal, you wind up with a $425 discount instead of $500)

The finance guy I dealt with was cool. He knew I had intended to just pay cash for the balance but financed $15K for the discount. He told me to multiply my payments by 6, deduct this from the $15K, and send that amount as my 1st payment. That way interest on the remaining 5 payments will be based only on the outstanding balance (In my case about $1,400 - $1,500 which would be minimal interest)

Congrats on the new RDX!

Re: Acura finance...All contracts are different, it is possible that Honda/Acura has changed some of the rules since others have posted here. I know for fact that I financed thought Acura and paid it off .In looking back at my records, I made three regular payments then two days after the third payment I paid the balance off without any penalties in early 2019. IIRC, I did this so the dealer would not loose a "bonus" from selling me the loan...Good advice from your finance guy to make a bugger payment first to save on interest.

I was quoted just $200 discount (plus 1500 conquest money) by an Acura dealer in central CT. I assume this discount amount is not the case for most people, even with the low inventories?

Thanks.

Hi guys,

What is the maximum discount members have been able to get on the A-spec? I was hoping purchase a new one within the near-future.

I currently only qualify for the conquest rebate. I previously went car shopping around a year ago pre-covid for a friend and was able to get multiple dealers offer competitive e-prices for the RDX and NX300. It appears the current e-prices are higher and I assume this is due to to the reduced inventory (? chip shortage) and low finance rates?

If you guys have any good leads on dealerships in North Florida please let me know.

Update: I went to a different dealer and was able to get $2,000 off, which I considered fair.

MSRP for Tech package plus heated steering wheel (795). $2,000 discount, $1,500 conquest, or whatever they call it, rebate. CT taxes and DMV fees.

I got the following deal in NJ
RDX SH-AWD (Tech Package) MSRP: 44,845
Conquest: 750
Dealer Cash Incentive: 1000
Discount: 2095
Sale Price: 41,000

Doc fees and title were also cheaper than surrounding dealers at 499 for doc fees and only $100 to transfer plates. No other dealer offered me more than 500 dollar discount and incentives if any discount at all and were not willing to negotiate.

Hi everyone! I test drove cars yesterday, and decided on the RDX. I think I'm going to go with the tech package. I'd love to get the Advanced, but not sure I'm willing to pay the extra for it. Anyway, the opening offer from my local dealership was for MSRP + a doc fee and paint protection (less loyalty). I'm hoping to get him to accept something less than MSRP, and will check with other dealerships (although purchasing at any other dealership would require a minimum 2.5 hour drive to pick up the car). It looks like others have been able to get discounts, although there aren't a lot of recent pricing posts, and inventories seem pretty limited right now.

Is the paint protection (Xzilon) something I should ask to have taken off? They're asking $748 for it.

If you have the money for it, then go for the MSRP as you mentioned. But 99% of us here would say "why would you?" Unless you're in the need of a brand new car, go for it. IMHO, if you can wait a few months for the refresh then you should see how that is first before you make any moves.
Otherwise, shop around and get a better deal, there's bound to be someone to budge a few more $K. Get them to either take the paint protection off the bill or remove it entirely.

Agreed on the paint protection. Might as well burn 748 dollar bills. Total waste of money. And don't pay MSRP; that's what my first dealer wanted. The second one offered $2,000 off. Pretty good use of my time, finding that!

Otherwise, shop around and get a better deal, there's bound to be someone to budge a few more $K. Get them to either take the paint protection off the bill or remove it entirely.
Unfortunately, my previous car was totaled after a 16 year old broadsided me last weekend. So I really can't wait a couple of months. I'll shop around dealers and push back on the original offer, and see if I can do better but, if not, I'm going to be stuck paying whatever the dealer wants for it. On the plus side, the high car prices right now resulted in my getting a decent settlement on my old car from the insurance company.

Thanks! I'll definitely push back on the paint protection and keep shopping around for a better price.

I haven't been on the forum long enough to be able to PM you, but I would love to get the info about the dealer who gave you $3.5 k off MSRP on an Advance. How long ago was that? If I could get that much off, I would buy the Advance rather than the Tech. I'd love to get the Advance, but it is really pushing the budget unless I can get $2.5k + off MSRP.

Sorry to hear that. What was the car you were driving? If you're okay with 6% off more or less the 2500 line that you mentioned, then do you. It's really unfortunate to have to need a car during a time like this tho :\ Hope you find a better deal. Refer to some of the old posts to see the areas where people got good deals from.

My old car was a 2012 Toyota Highlander. My kids are all in their late teens and early 20s now, so I’m ready to move past the “kid hauler” type of car and get myself something nice this time! I’m looking forward to getting an RDX. And yes, I agree that it’s unfortunate that I’m having to buy a car at this particular time, but it can’t be helped. My main frustration is that it looks like an Advance would have been in the price range I want to pay at most times, but probably isn’t right now. Maybe next time ….

Well not all hope is lost. You can probably scour the certified/used list for some '19-'20 models if you're open to that. Lots of people are coming off their leases as time passes, and some even ends earlier. I literally saw a Black ext/ Ebony interior last week, Advance '20 certified for 32k. 5k miles only. I was like no way this is true. Either it was an error on Acura's end, or someone swooped it off the market. It was Island of Acura in NY.
