Picked up a 2020 RDX w/Tech SH-AWD (MSRP: $44,025). Used Acura standard rate financing ($2500 incentive) and got the Acura loyalty rebate ($3000).
MSRP: $44,345 ($44,025 sticker + $145 splash guards + $175 floor mats)
Incentives: $3000+$2500 Final Price: $35,200 Final price does not include TTL but does includes all dealer and doc fees. This price also includes Acura all-season floor mats and splash guards.
After all is said and done around $9K off of sticker. Seemed like a good price. Maybe not the best possible but good enough for me.
From what I saw today during my 1st negotiation, that is an awesome deal. Congratulations!
Thanks to all your posters for showing me that deals are out there. They vary widely from region to region.
Oddly my local dealer from whom I have purchased 10 Acuras would not match the AutoNation Price I was quoted. They (AutoNation) are a one price dealer and quite aggressive on pricing. Sent the Autonation offer to my dealer. They INSULTED me by saying I should look at a Mazda CX5 (nothing wrong with those) but they have 4 red ASPEC SHAWD on the lot. No. They must have vastly different marketing than large corporate dealer like AutoNation with 4 exact matches on the lot
So got a $49 flight from Tulsa to Houston, 16 miles to dealership, spend a few days on the Gulf coast and drive home with this deal:
MSRP $47,425 (Red A SPEC SHAWD, Black interior)
Everyone $41,248 (lease or purchase, the $2500 finance and lease incentive in that price)
Loyalty -$3000
Military -750
Doc fee +150
Total $37,648
Down $25,000
Balance $12,648 at Market rate financing of 3.5% (will pay off quickly anyway)
tax not shown since that only matters to OK people.
good deal overall. Texas limits doc fee to $150 Florida out rageous as are many others. So pay a fee to allow them the opportunity for financing bonus, dealer adds and the like.
My loyalty is the "Rebate" line, and the "Acura coupon" was put in after I commented on "fees" and doc charges to counter them. They were at $43,580 or so before I asked for all season mats and Welcome lights to be thrown in and make it $44k. Asked for remote start installation also but they wouldn't go for it. Got a few friends at local dealers that can get me parts at wholesale prices and installation at less than half of public rates so I'll just have it done here. Dealer I'm purchasing from is in Jacksonville Florida and I live just north of Atlanta.
*Manager's special with ~1200 miles
*I was getting quotes of $42,730 and $43,730 (with similar discounts applied) from other dealerships for brand new 2020s that were still on the lot
**We also had a trade-in credit for $8500 so the taxes reflects that
For anyone still shopping for a 2020, after discounts and negotiations, I've found that (in our local market anyway) pricing for a brand new 2020 is so close to a used model coming off lease that you might as well buy new. Your individual pricing will likely vary based off of your local market so take that with a grain of salt.
We have had our 2019 RDX for nearly two years and have really enjoyed it. About 32K miles. I just learned of the loyalty discount that I see here has been around a while, and I am impressed by some of the large discounts people are getting. My experience in the past is to read about great deals and then reach out to several dealers who tell me to pound salt, but hope springs eternal! Is the financing incentive still a thing? If so, how does it work? I don't see it on the Acura website. Combining the loyalty and financing incentives would be a good start on a deal.
Ok you can play with some numbers at Autonation.com which is a one price store. They show $6100 dealer discount on the 2020 RDX (I bought from there last Monday). That requires the use of standard market based Acura rates instead of 0.9% (The financing incentive is $2500). I paid $25,000 down and will pay off my loan in one year. We also got $750 military and $3000 loyalty.
Our ASpec SHAWD in red was a $10,000 discount all told. Only other fee was the $150 DOC fee.

Thanks, idgy. I am looking at Autonation.com hoping to play with numbers but the site is only showing me MSRP. It said it would show me availability and discounts if I entered my contact information, which I did, only to receive a message that a sales consultant would contact me shortly. UGH. It sounds like you were saying you can see the discounts on the website, but I'm not seeing that.
At Autonation.com you can "sign in" create an account. then search cars. Here is a result before applying $loyalty or $military etc.
No one bothered me when I did it this way. You will get a call once you save a car or create a deal.
Sorry if that was unclear.
J
Thanks for following up, I appreciate it! I created an account and again got the "someone will contact you message", but when I closed that pop-up window I saw discounted prices for all the 2020 vehicles. Unfortunately, the closest AutoNation Acura dealer is 1,000 miles from me but it will be interesting to see their pricing.
Thanks to everyone for these posts and their input. Been having a hard to time finding such good prices locally on a 2020 RDX. Best offer I get (looking for a 2020 RDX -Tech, just FWD, black ext) is total $42500 out the door. Prices before taxes/fees are at or above invoice. Unfortunately I don't own an Acura to qualify for the loyalty discount. I've heard with lower supply due to factories being affected by the virus outbreak, that dealers are less willing to give discounts. Wondering if I should just wait a while until the 2021 RDX hopefully gets some good incentives, I guess next year. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Unless the ultimate lowest price is a big deal for you, get the best deal you can get today. The future pricing is uncertain, and you will have the car you want and be driving it now. There's no guarantee prices will be lower. next week, next month or next year.

I know somebody else just asked a similar question, but what exactly is a finance incentive? I have seen it multiple times in this thread but I do not see it on Acura's website. In order to get the loyalty incentive, you need to finance through Acura, which ends up being 1.5%-2% higher than what my bank will give me (2.5% vs 4-4.5). Is this a hidden dealer incentive that they can pass on to the customer at their discretion? If thats the case, then it can be used in bargaining the price if I'm forced into financing through Acura. Any information would be helpful.
The Acura Finance incentive is $2500 the lease incentive is $3200 right now. These incentives are based on outrageous finance and lease factors.
HOWEVER if you have the means to purchase an expensive car, then you would be smart to take advantage of these incentives as you can pay off a lease or a financed car immediately after purchase and either pay cash or refinance
I bought my RDX on the 10th and only financed $14,000 which I have paid $12,500 off already. I will allow three months of payments then be done with very very little interest.

Thank you for the response. I understand all of that. My question is what is the "Acura Finance Incentive" of $2,500? Where is this listed? How does it work? Who is eligible? Can it be combined with other incentives? Because I can't find anything online that this even exists. If I'm understanding you correctly, you are saying that if I finance my car through Acura (which I am forced to do in order to be eligible for the $3,000 loyalty incentive), then can I also get another $2,500 incentive taken off the price for financing through Acura. Is this correct? If you have a website you could refer me to, that would be great.

The best people to answer your questions would be the dealer(s). If you're immediately ready to buy then I recommend emailing them for an out the door price and having them break down what you would qualify for. Compare pricing and go with whoever you're most comfortable with. It also doesn't hurt to get someone from the sales department on the phone to clarify the incentives and see what else you might qualify for.
Some anecdotal background, within 1 day I was able to shop and sign for a car, only leaving my house once. In the morning I received out-the-door pricing from 4 separate dealerships. After lunch I decided on a dealer, scheduled an appointment, test drove, signed paperwork and drove away with a new car.

So in the example deal which was one of several offers sent to my by dealers, you do not see any mention of $2500 incentive. It is a dealer incentive and baked into the discount. This is what I was told on the phone.
Dealers all manage their affairs differenty but given the huge discount--it obviously is baked in. Plus they definately would not allow 0.9 % at that price.
But you don’t drive a deal (OK, I have one friend who only cares about The Deal).
You drive the car. IMO, get the right car, and then get the best deal you can. But getting and living with the right car is far better than driving the best deal.

You are correct. I was in the middle of the negotiations between 2 dealerships and I trust car salesmen about as far as i can throw them. When I asked about the finance incentive, I was told by the finance manager that there was no such thing. Finally, she put on a sales manager and I got the explanation. This incentive is unadvertised (as we know) and is given in the form of dealer cash. So when people are breaking it out as a line item on a sales quote, its actually misleading because it shouldn't be. Its all baked into the discount that you negotiate from the dealer. They can pass this along to the customer if they feel they need to in order to get the sale, or they can pocket it. They obviously do all that they can to do the latter.
After a week of negotiations, my new RDX SH-AWD with Tech package will be delivered today. Feel pretty good about the deal I got. I live in the DMV and both Radley and Pohanka were willing to get to get close to this price. I bought my 2015 TLX from Radley, so I stuck with them. The rebate was the acura loyalty.
This forum is a great way to level the playing field between dealers and customers. Thanks to all the contributors. Just wanted to pass along my deal and some info in hopes that it helps someone else!
Matt Black, that's impressive. An $8K discount? I'm guessing just through aggressive negotiation tactics? I'm emailing my area dealerships in the west coast and they're just the usual $2-3K dealer discounts. Anything lower that I offer them and some just bow out and say they can't work with me. Never seen so many dealerships that were not interested in selling a car.
I wish I'd done more homework and found this site prior to buying my 2020 RDX FWD Tech. I felt rushed because I wanted white exterior and after seeing I couldn't get the lease specials, I went for the finance special of .9% and showed my hand on that as opposed to just negotiating the price of car. Lesson learned, other times I've done better but not this time. I did tell them I'm not paying for their protection package, but all told I spent $39,500 +TTL. I'm enjoying the car though!
geekybiker would you please describe your $39,500 purchase with a list off all the incentives you received? I’m hoping to obtain the same deal either from your Acura dealer, if you provide me their name or use your deal’s details to shop other Acura dealers, since the dealers I’ve contacted so far don’t believe your deal at $39,500 + TTL. Thanks - Ed Porter
I know this is a bit late, but we qualified for the conquest promo and got a deal for taking their loan. These numbers are confusing as heck as they moved stuff from charges to credits to reductions in cost.
Hey everyone, I've found a 2020 A-Spec with 1,300 miles that was used as the dealer's company car (one driver, not a loaner). Being sold as new. The offer is around $39,500 (before TTL). What would be a reasonable counter-offer?
I spoke with another dealer who had the same exact 2020 A-Spec that was truly new (only test drive miles), and they said they "couldn't come close" to that price. The sales manager said that it seems the other car has been driven for about 6 months and that Acura dealers can write down $500/mo., which means I'm essentially getting a $3000 discount compared to what I might get on a 2021. However, when I started shopping in August, TrueCar suggested that a high-$39k sales price in my area was a common deal for a remaining 2020 A-Spec, which makes me think there's more bargaining room.
From a 30+ year Honda/Acura loyalist.... I hate to be a downer but after If you want this car lease it.
It tanks in value and there's no way I'd want it out of full warranty. Reliability has dropped to worse than Mini (and from experience, you don't want worse than that). Our 2020 has been back to the dealer 9x in 8 mos (even with Covid closure). It's a mess.

I've picked up on the fact that you're not happy with your RDX.
are you financing with Acura? Military? Conquest? Loyalty? These are all major factors in final price.
I only qualify for the $1000 conquest discount and the finance promotions. The rest is dealer discount. I asked around yesterday about prices on 2021 A-Spec's and received the following quotes (before TTL):
$42,000
$42,250
$40,500
That last quote was quite surprising and I'm curious if it's a bait-and-switch. Nevertheless, it gives me good ammunition to negotiate harder on that 2020 offer of $39,500, which right now is only a $750 savings for a car with 1500 miles (not nearly good enough, imo).
Anyone have price numbers for the 2021 models? Just beginning my search and so far I have one quote for RDX SH-AWD tech package, which no other dealer is willing to do better than. Also I have a 2010 TSX which unfortunately doesn't meet the cutoff for the loyalty discount (for 2021 model the cutoff is 2011), is there any way around this. What do dealers normally ask for in terms of proof when applying that discount? Thanks in advance!

What all has been wrong with it? I will say the build quality of the interior is absolutely deplorable on our 2020 A-Spec. I'll never pay anywhere near sticker for an Acura ever again, if ever. We got ours last July when these were hard to deal on. The CR-V with 265k miles was finally starting to having monthly issues, all minor, but enough that it had potential to leave us stranded somewhere.
Hi, Does anyone still think 2020 is worth the buy given than most models are 2021.
I am getting a quote of 39500 (before TTL) for 2021 and 2020 both SH AWD Tech package.. (But 2020 has 0.9% APR).
Do you think there is a further scope of negotiation on either of the models?. I am based in NJ.

I am thinking about it too. what APR are they offer for the 2021?
I also in NJ/NY area.
I've been shopping around in the DC area and haven't found the dealers to distinguish much between the 2020's and 2021's in terms of their offers. I'm not in a rush and holding for holiday season deals.
Anyone have any recent info on the Chicago area? Im going to drive the TLX and RDX tomorrow. Trading in my '09 TSX.
Was speaking with dealership GM last week on trading our '20 RDX on a '20 MDX and he said the year-end "sell down" incentive for the RDX just ended in N.Y.
I think it was a national offer to make room for '21's. It was $3K.
They're expecting some "sell down" for the '20 MDX to come this week.
