I just purchased my first Acura (RDX) over the weekend and I have been trying to setup the AcuraLink app on my iPhone. I downloaded the app and tried to accept the "Terms & Conditions" but the app throw me an error. Does anyone have that issue?
Seems like AcuraLink is having issues right now, possibly related to a ransomware attack against Honda.
I just upgraded my AcuraLink subscription (my free Remote trial has expired) and while the charge went through, the features haven’t been activated. But my basic AcuraLink is still working.
“We are currently experiencing a system outage and some services may not be available.
We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.“
I am getting the same message on my 2 Android devices which have been working flawlessly for a year now. I guess we all just have to wait out Honda's problem.
I'm having same issue. Although i can still start and lock my car through the app. My wife however try to reinstall the app and now she's stuck and cant get past terms and conditions.
I called Acura customer service this morning and got a we are busy here recorded msg. So it looks like business as usual at Acura until they resolve the ransomware issue.
Bad timing, bud. I’m sure it will be resolved in time, but until then you’ll have to just manage without the app. IMO there wasn’t anything so great about it anyway, other than maybe being able to remotely warm the car up before driving it in the winter months. Everything in the app is nice-to-have not need-to-have. But then, I come from a time when cars didn’t have apps...
I called AcuraLink Support again and was informed that they are sorry, but due to a "technical issue" they are working on it.
I finally got a onscreen notification on my phone from the app informing me there was a message saying they apologize, but of course when I clicked on it the app loaded and BAM no msg to read.
I have not had any problems with the Acura over the past several days. TBH, we have been driving the Accord until our appointment on Wednesday to get the recall fixed. Maybe that has something to do with it.
I checked my app today, and the Remote functions that I paid for about a week ago finally are activated! I don't know if that means Honda got rid of the ransom problem (if that was ever the issue) or what but at least now it's working again!
