Differences between US & Canadian 2021 RDX A-Spec
Differences between US & Canadian 2021 RDX A-Spec
A local non-Acura dealer in NY is selling a used 2021 Canadian model A-Spec. I know its the Canadian model as it has the folding mirrors, heated steering wheel and even has the Canadian flag on the door jam where it lists the manufacture date, VIN, tire info etc.
It seems like a good find since it has the extra features I want (mirrors, heated steering wheel etc) but are there any drawbacks to buying the Canadian model in the US? I'm guessing one is its not certified but not sure how big a deal that is.
Additionally, are there other differences between the US and Canadian model for the A-Spec?
Thanks!

My Canadian model does have a spare tire and KPH on speedo is the outside larger numbers..MPH is smaller on inside of the speedo. Readout for the tire pressure monitor is PSI. Also, Powertrain Warranty is only 5yrs / 100,000kms on Canadian models as opposed to 6yrs for US.

There should not be a problem with warranty work but I would check with your closest Acura dealer just to be sure. Or call Acura USA customer service.

back in 2011 was looking to buy a Honda and we were told by a salesman...ohy a the Honda Warranty is good world wide! Called Honda....Nope..yes recalls could be completed, but not warranty work. Moralo story, dont listen to what a sales person tells ys...calll Acura
I hope I am wrong but something just doesn’t add up for me. Usually these cars end up with dealerships. This dealer must have bought it at an auction. I would thoroughly check it out for accident history and all else. Maybe even take it to an Acura dealership to inspect it in and out, or at least your local guy who can do a full inspection.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I spoke with Acura Customer Care and was told only Canadian VIN owner(s) that have relocated and registered the vehicle in the U.S. and are requesting to transfer their Canadian Warranty can still have the manufacturer's warranty intact. Otherwise, the manufacturer's warranty is voided.
Definitely going to pass on the car now - too bad as it only had 717 miles. Thanks for the suggestion to confirm with Acura!

Digging through their website, some other things on the Canadian A-Spec that is not on the US Models

rain sensing wipers
power folding side view mirrors
heated windshield/wiper de-icer
remote start w/ key fob
front & rear splash guards
larger washer fluid tank with low fluid indicator

Don’t forget that Canadian cars come with metric gauges. With the RDX, some can be converted to US in settings, but not all. Also, north of the border we use imperial (British) gallons not US gallons as a unit of measure.
