I noticed Tech in Canada comes with Leatherette vs in US Tech comes with Perforated Milano Premium Leather, wonder how this Leatherette going to hold up here in Canada. I personally thing that was cheap way to cut cost.
I'm gonna judge after I try it as my recent experiences with leatherette in other products lately have been really good - for example, I didn't even realize the "leather" in the Mercedes C300 wasn't leather till after. It may not have been nappa leather or other premium types but it was perfectly reasonable for a luxury car - I bet the vast majority of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Of course there's cheap leatherette too but that increasingly seems to be uncommon.
Google “suede alcantara”. The “suede” insert in the ASpec seats and on the dash facing is not real leather, it is a synthetic. If feels like the real thing, however but is apparently somewhat delicate requiring careful cleaning.
I keep my vehicles for a long time. The perforated black leather on my TSX is over 15 years old and is in great condition and is easily cleaned. Hope the faux suede can hold up that well.
I don’t understand why Acura thinks A-spec buyers don’t want the Platinum Elite features (other than the wood accents). It’s just so ridiculous.
Agreed. I much prefer the Aspec look (blacked out chrome, red gauges, sports steering wheel), but I am not sold on the suede seat inserts as I am sure they will not wear well, and I like the features of the Platinum Elite. I see a blue or black one in my future, especially if the blue comes with black interior unlike my 17 Blue with Grey interior of which I do not care for.
I'd be seriously bummed if the red seats aren't available on the A-spec as that's the trim I'm most interested in and I don't want black leather. I'm looking at the XC60 and C300 wagon and in both case I'm opting for white/grey as the interior colour.
I'm pretty disappointed that the A-spec doesn't come in the Apex Blue + Red-leather combo in Canada. I would buy one right now if was.
I'd got my white with red interior A-Spec on June 19 and have already put 2000km on it
It seems nobody had yet mentioned that the Canadian spec comes with auto-start on the key fob so we don't need to subscribe to Acuralink for that feature.

Rats. You Canadians get all the good stuff. Is it true that there is also an included six pack of Labatt’s in that cubby hole on the left in the hatch?

A serious marketing fail on the dealer's part - especially for a top trim item. Just think of all the customer good will that could be had by putting a couple of 'cold ones' and a small bottle of wine on ice in one of the under floor storage cubbies.
Picked it up yesterday. Put on about 100kms over the past 2 days and Im very happy with it.
Congratulations! Like you, I also have a SMR TLX A-Spec. I really wanted to get the RDX A-Spec as well, but simply couldn’t reconcile Acura’s decision not to let buyers combine the A-Spec with Elite features. Alas, I bought a Range Rover Velar First Edition instead. Enjoy your new ride!
