White on red A-Spec it is for me.
Nice choice! In fact I think there are no bad choices! White and black are nice if you wash your car often. That is not my case. The blue is very nice but I'm afraid I would get tired of it. And you can't get the blue with red interior. Maybe Modern Steel Metallic and red.
Great news for the remote start. It should be mandatory by law in Canada, like seat belts and airbags. LOL
I don't see why I would pay to have a LTE wifi hotspot in my car. I already pay 85$/month for my cell phone and I can activate connection sharing. I'm not familiar with AcuraLink but AFAIK it's cool but it doesn't add much when you already have a cell phone and it's not cheap. The cool thing would if the RDX could connect to internet through an iphone. I'm I missing something?
The Elite wheels are way, way nicer than the Platinum Elite.
I totally agree! What's up with those "Elite Platinum" Wheels!? The Elite wheels look so much better. Also, Acura should have just made the 20" optional wheels standard on the Platinum Elite - those ones look amazing! :-)
I wonder how the fuel economy going to be with this new engine.
It you drive like a grandma, it should be decent. But push it even a little bit and you will pay dearly. This is the monster that is the turbo 4 engine. The A-Spec with the fairly large wheels takes a decent hit too compared to standard models. I don’t expect people to be impressed with the fuel economy at all, but too early to say.
Here are some interesting numbers from Honda Canada (L/100km...city/hwy/combined)
2019 RDX (awd) 11.0/8.6/9.9
2019 RDX ASpec. 11.3/9.1/10.3
2018 CRV (awd). 8.7/7.2/8.0
now the CRV uses regular fuel, so effectively the RDX will cost 15% more, equivalent to a 15% hit in fuel economy for the RDX
For comparison purposes my 2004 TSX, 4 cyl, auto also uses premium fuel and it is of course only 2wd. Fuel economy drops drastically when pushed hard, especially in town but I never feel like I am paying too much for fuel
it is listed at 12.4/8.1/10.2, more fuel use than the Aspec in town, overall similar.
This shows how fuel economy has generally improved over the years. Considering the horsepower, size and performance with all wheel drive, the RDX does very well. The CRV with close to the same hp as my TSX seems fantastic if you are concerned about fuel cost.
Looks like the Canadian cars are arriving at dealers. My dealer has 3, one Platinum Elite for test drive one ASpec being cleaned up for showroom. Both have folding mirrors and it was confirmed that all Canadian cars have on fob remote start.
I also confirmed that the Canadian cars have the same Goodyear (A-Spec) and Continental (Platinum Elite) tires. Unfortunately have to wait my turn for a test drive.
Here are a few shots of the demo car, White with Saddle Brown (I think this is the same as Espresso in the US) and a Black with Red ASpec waiting for detailing. Platinum Elite White
Guys - can you stop posting these beautiful pics? lol
This new RDX is simply insane. It looks beautiful from inside and outside. Also reading and watching all these nice reviews...simply can't wait to test drive one!
Everyone says it....Acura got it right this time
Is this the first time Acura is getting this much praise and coverage after the 3G TL???
So it appears Northwest Acura got their what I suspect is their "demo/test drive"allotment before Silverhill Acura. Interesting. I was told I would not be able to see one until July.
Somehow this does not surprise me as both of them will be competing with each other for those customers wanting to put down deposits asap.

Silverhill should be getting theirs soon is my guess. They probably didn't have an exact date when you asked, so they just used July as a placeholder. If Silverhill does indeed get theirs in July, it's more than likely a supply issue, and Honda decided to give it to the dealer with a flip of a coin, or perhaps the one that had better sales?

Silverhill Acura is in Calgary right? That’s where my 1G RDX was from!

Saddle Brown interior
Thank you for the photos - the saddle brown interior is GORGEOUS! Now I really like the white on saddle brown combo.... NICE!!! :-)
The Espresso interior looks stunning. I drove by my local Acura dealership yesterday and they had a white a-spec and blue a-spec. And the same dealership just sent my wife an email about booking a test drive lol.
My dealership here in Hamilton has a few in, couple AS and a PE. I test drove an AS yesterday and Im very impressed. Any questions, ask away and I''ll do my best to answer.
Signed the paperwork for a white on red AS and should take delivery first week of July. Got $1000 off and a 1% rate reduction (loyalty) and free tints.

Congrats!
You're lucky to get the 1% rate reduction. I've always wondered why they would give discounts to keep their current customers and not to acquire new customers... Anyone has already been able to have a reduced rate (without the loyalty program)?

I did a test drive this week and yes they get it right ! . The combo engine-gear box works very well.
What I can say they catch up , but not sure if they went further vs the competition. Also the prices are getting closer to the germans and if you look to the lease prices , doesn't look anymore as a bargain.
It may be on my shopping list in 3 years when my 2108 Q5 lease will finish , but we will see if at that time what deals can be made.
What I can say this time : Good job Acura. You should have done same with the TLX to keep me as a customer.

My friend got a postcard from Burrard Acura (Vancouver) offering up to 2% off financing for Acura owners along with the loyalty bonus and trade-in bonus.
My local Acura (Brampton, Ontario) has at least one in the showroom and at least one demo. Booked a drive for monday. Now when I demo a car, normally do this 2 or 3 times, giving the wife a chance to drive too, I like a longer drive with a combo city, highway and country roads. I won’t likely be ready to buy until late October at the earliest as I want to see how reliability stacks up with the early purchasers. If reliability seems an issue, will jump to the CRV touring but I really believe I want the RDX. When I am ready to buy, I will know what I want and what is a reasonable price at the time and be sure to get that from whichever dealer I choose. For those leasing or switching up vehicles every 4 years long term reliability is not a big deal, but I like to keep a vehicle for the long term. Hence my 1G 2004 TSX which I will keep and not trade in at this time. The RDX would actually be replacing my wife's drive, a 2005 Nissan Xtrail. If I had bought an accord at the time of puchasing the TSX, and I have owned a couple..the 1987 accord with the flip up headlights was a rock solid car...I am sure I would have lost interest by now, but something about certain Acura models keeps them fresh.

Google "Honda fuel dilution". Some owners of the 1.5T are experiencing issues where gas is getting into the oil. Personally, I wouldn't touch the CR-V until there's a known fix.
Trust me, I am very much up on this, my alternative to the RDX would be a 2019 model crv. The fuel dilution seemed to affect mostly 2017 vehicles and there may have been Honda changes on the go. This seemed to affect a small percentage of vehicles.
Anyone in Canada get delivery of your vehicle yet? I am in Mississauga, Ontario and was told that I can expect my vehicle between June 22nd and June 28th (first shipment).

not true. I'm guessing you're referring to your experience with the 1G RDX? That thing was anything but a properly built turbo. Power was meh and fuel economy was shit. Step on the go pedal and the consumption got even shittier. Hey I'm not hating on the 1G- I still really like that thing.
otherwise, if you're romping on the go pedal, it should return similar consumption numbers to that if you were romping on a V6. The only comparison I have is my 2012 Sonata 2.0T and my 2006 TL... the Sonata always had better numbers, regardless of what type of driving was done. Even when mashing the pedal in either car, the Sonata still came out ahead, though the gap did close significantly. But... keep in mind the Sonata also made more power than the TL V6.
On the highway though... the Sonata destroyed the TL in fuel economy. Wasn't even close, driving from Edmonton to Calgary. The TL would at best get 9.5L/100km. The Sonata could do it at 6.8-7.3L/100km.

I noticed Tech in Canada comes with Leatherette vs in US Tech comes with Perforated Milano Premium Leather, wonder how this Leatherette going to hold up here in Canada. I personally thing that was cheap way to cut cost.
