Press in the left scroll wheel on the steering wheel to pause music you're playing in AA. You don't use the HUD IIRC, but it displays the song that's currently playing in the HUD and pauses it. Play that paused song using the same action.

Tried it. That does not work for me, pressing in the left scroll wheel when a song is playing in AA does nothing. I have a 2023 Advance Aspec model...not sure if that makes a difference.

My apologies. It just brings up the song title and artist in the HUD. Thought it paused it too, but it doesn't.

You can turn on the bottom control bar in android auto settings. Then there is usually a pause icon for music, even though other apps are showing. But you have to use the touchpad to access the button which isn't very convenient.

Another option (what my wife does) is to mount a phone holder on the vent between the wheel and screen, we have a wireless charging mount there. Then you can pause on your phone screen app without using the touchpad.

Just tried an audio command to AA and it worked. I used the phrase pause playback and AA paused the music; I saw the AA icon for pausing turn to the play icon. I then issued the AA audio command resume playback and the playback resumed.

I didn't have any luck with an audio command to the RDX's built-in system when playing the satellite radio. Maybe there is some command for that; will try to remember to check the owner's manual next time that I access it.

I should have used the word "verbal" rather than "audio" in the prior post. Bad choice and confusing considering that we are discussing audio from AA.

So a long press of the microphone button on the steering wheel in order to get the verbal command to AA and then the phrase, which, it turns out, appears to work as expected with just saying "pause" to halt the music playback and "play" or "resume" to have the music continue.

I tried that...it does indeed work. its just slowwwwwww.
However...after playing with the steering wheel controls a bit while my music is displayed on screen, hitting the audio off button DOES indeed pause the music (and turn it off). Once you turn it back on, it picks up right where it left off.
Feeling dumb that I never noticed it picks up right where it left off. Yes it would be more intuitive to just pause it with the scroll wheel push, a TRUE pause, but this will do. It's 10 times faster than doing it with your voice.

I had tried the audio off button while listening to the satellite radio and was disappointed in that it didn't pause the playback. Luckily AA acts as we would want it to. At least the TouchPad access when accessing the satellite radio is easy enough to pause the playback.
