Acura infotainment hack

Hello,
i recently got my 2019 RDX, so far I like how it drives and everything. It also got me searching and wondering if anyone has figured out a way to hack the infotainment. I looked at the notifications and it seems like it’s running a skin on android.

when I say hack I am looking for things where you can install apps, or play videos get more out of trip computer etc

Congrats on the new ride! And welcome to the forum! The RX is a fine machine. I'm really enjoying mine.

I have no interest in hacking the head unit (with is Android based) myself, but there is a long thread on the CR-V forum discussing this, and perhaps this is a pace to start? There are numerous references on other places where the developers actually do this kind of work.

It MAY be too soon as this is a brand new HU. Hard to say without doing some digging.

For what it's worth, I was heavily involved in rooting (hacking) Android phones about 6-7 years ago, but have since become much more satisfied with what comes from Google.

Good luck , and let us know what you find.

Typo. OOPS! I hate when that happens! I mean the RDX is a fine machine! To the Lexus lovers, I suppose the RX is a fine machine also.

If hackable, I’d love to change The infotainment menus to a red theme on my a-spec vs the standard blue theme.

Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes! Would love more customization. Or the ability to overclock the GPU!

Agreed, I never understood this. The infotainment/navi in my '08 TL was totally customizable with like 4-5 colors (one of them being brown, which was really odd).

Any findings yet? Trying the different Honda hacks, doesn't seem to work as Acura might have locked it down further.
