odd noise after turning off engine

Today, I turned off the engine and opened driver door probably a little quicker than normal. I hear a sound coming from rear area live an electric motor - similar to sound of outside mirrors folding (but they weren't).
Do the electric dampers adjust after turning off engine? It may be there all the time, but first time I've noticed?

Yup it's the electronic parking brake engaging. Totally normal. I hear on our '17 Sport Hybrid too.

I can't say for sure as I haven't fully tested out this theory. I believe if you have the auto brake engaged, the parking brake will auto engage also when you put the car in park and shut it off.

Its for sure the parking brake as I turned it on with the button and heard the noise.
By auto brake, do you mean Brake Hold? I do not have that engaged. Maybe it is in one of the settings

According to manual the parking brake auto engages when:

In the following situations, the parking brake automatically operates.
•When the vehicle stops more than 10 minutes while ACC with LSF is activated.
•When the driver’s seat belt is unfastened while your vehicle is stopped automatically by ACC with LSF.
•When the engine is turned off, except by Auto Idle Stop system, while ACC with LSF is activated.
•When the vehicle stops with the automatic brake hold system activated for more than 10 minutes.
•When the driver’s seat belt is unfastened while your vehicle is stopped and automatic brake hold is applied.
•When the engine is turned off, except by Auto Idle Stop system, while automatic brake hold is applied.
•When there is a problem with the Automatic Brake Hold System while automatic brake hold is applied.

thanks
That said I don't think I was in one of those scenarios. I did not have Brake Hold on nor was ACC or SF engaged
I'll chalk it up to an anomaly
