Accessory On, after turning off the engine?

New to the keyless access system on my 2012 TL Advance, but I have searched the owner's manual and haven't found an answer to this one.

How do you switch from the engine running mode to Accessory On without having to turn off everything, then hit the start button again?

When I get to a parking spot and am still on a call or want to keep listening to the radio, I haven't figured out how to turn off the engine, yet keep the electronics on.

Thoughts?

Tried that, tried pushing three times, tried with foot off brake, no success yet.

Before turning off the car, put it into Neutral. Now press the Stop Engine button. Then you'll be in Accessory Mode. Just shift it into Park, put the handbrake on and you'll be set!

ditto, i was just about to say that

hit neutral, then the start/stop button.

also on a call, your car should still be talking to that person till they hang up... even if you press the start/stop button...

mine does that.. it waits for the call to end before everything shuts off.w

Nope. It's almost a month, and I still haven't played around with the instruments to the level I'd like to. I'm going to experiment this whole accessory thing (based on a bunch of educated combinations) first thing tomorrow morning on my way to work. Will let you know.

On a 6MT, if you're on a call via bluetooth, the car will go to accessory mode upon hitting the start/stop button. Enjoy! Stumbled across this earlier....

I have 6-speed manual as well. Good to know that bluetooth call will keep ACC on. Serious oversight (IMHO) to not have any other way to do that. Have searched the owner's manual and tried various combinations.

Thanks so much! I was looking through the manual for this and couldn't find it either.

Kind of a pain in the ass but it's still good to know. I can't believe they don't leave the radio on till you open the doors like so many other cars.

On GMs they call that RAP (Radio Accessory Power). And in a way I'm glad we don't have it because its more problematic than its worth (in terms of aftermarket time). But yea it has its pluses and minus.

Be aware that some TLs will run down the battery in a very short time if you run the stereo etc. in accessory only. I had to get a boost in a parking lot myself one day when I had had the car for just a short time.
On the positive side though, my car started fine after I left it for a month and went on vacation. (Manual warns it may run battery down just sitting there.)

+1 on this. They seriously need to start putting batteries in this car with higher reserve capacities. I won't go into details, but I've had tons of battery problems with my 2012, even with the new "battery management system" in the 2012+ years. Don't dare leave it in accessory mode too long. The dealer admitted they've had tons of issues with batteries draining quickly. Of course that's evident here on the forums too. The battery is constantly draining he said, even when completely off. System checks, computer stuff, etc.

There was an article recently in car and driver mentioning that automakers are looking to move away from the old 12v system to something newer because of all the electronics in cars now. It was a sidebar article in the print magazine. Can't find it online.

I agree. I have a 2009 TL SH-AWD and with an older battery and no battery management (feature in newer TLs) and I needed a boost after using air compessor to fill air in the tires. I think I used it for 20 minutes. Use accessory mode sparingly. My friend with a Kia mentioned that the system will warn you to start your engine if you are in acessory mode too long.
