Nope, you don't need to start another group for other trims, we will add pricing info for other trims, including base sh-awd, in the same group, hopefully by tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Have an OTD price of $39,999 on the 2020 MDX with Technology package. I emailed all the dealers in the Greater Houston area. The first quote I received was for $40,312.77 drive out (Including tax, license, doc, fees and title fees); the selling price they were offering was $37,392. I used that quote and forwarded to another dealer in town and they came in with $39,999; I sent the other dealer a screenshot of the first dealer's offer. Has anyone received a better offer? I am thinking there might be more room to negotiate.

That is the best price I have heard. They must be looking to hit a sales and get some $$ back from Acura corporate. I assume you had to finance through Acura Financial to get that deal. How many year loan was it and what was the interest rate.
#291
Haven't puled the trigger yet. I am planning to go in tomorrow and see if they can make the numbers a bit better. Sales rep already told me that it would have to be financed via Acura Financial and that there is no prepayment penalty. The plan is to finance a portion of the car and pay it off before interest starts accruing.

I received a $13,000 off MSRP email from a local Acura dealer in the DFW area, so I got curious. Then I searched the interwebs and looked through this thread for some data points from the past few months. I saw that somebody else got their SH-AWD for ~$37,500 OTD in NoVA at the end of last month. I saw that the Houston area buying group for the SH-AWD base is roughly $35,120 so $37,765 OTD by my rough math (6.25% tax + ~$450 fees). I emailed a few of the other dealerships with $36,500 and nobody was budging. A couple of them wanted $38,500 still and for me to come in person to talk but I wasn't interested in driving an hour out. The original dealership gave me their number: $37,128 OTD for SH-AWD base silver on gray. This is my first new car buying experience and at this price point (versus mid-$20k in the past). As long as those other numbers are sound, then I'm very pleased with the deal I got.
I'm curious to know if there was even more wiggle room to negotiate? Like how would one go about getting more than $13,000 off?
Also, the finance manager at the dealership was trying to add a service plan for $27 per month for 60 months ($1620 total). Was I correct in turning it down? Most of the stuff I've read has said the offers and warranties in the finance office are generally not worth it.
Lastly, I had to finance through Acura which currently has a 4.99% rate. The finance manager stated that I could make a large first payment (at 45 days from purchase) and that I should hold the rest let's say $5-10k for at least 6 months to be "on good terms with Acura in the future." Is there any truth to that or just mumbo jumbo to get me to pay extra interest into their pockets?

Congrats on the purchase! There are still over 3000 2020 MDXs left throughout the country and I think Acura might be offering more incentives to get rid of them as the image doesn't look good for any manufacturers to still have any 2020s by now, especially for their high-end vehicles.
#299
Yes, the group closed on 3/30 with 1 remote buyer, but due to the fact that dealer cannot complete remote transaction in one day, the buyer did not complete purchase by 3/31.
The deal is still available for MDX Base, not as good as 25% off MSRP at end of March, but pre-TTL is around 23-24% off MSRP now for anybody who qualifies Conquest/Loyalty incentives, check it out, it may run out at any time.

Deal Review:
2020 Base SH-AWD
$46500 MSRP + $1025 Destination
$38293 OTD Price Including Doc Fee
+ Sales Tax
Is this an Okay deal? There is $7,000 Financing Incentive + $1,5000 Conquest + $1,000 Flex Cash. OTD excluding Sales Tax / MSRP+Dest = ~20% Off

Also I think others have been able to get around $34k plus TTL with all the incentives kicked in for a Base. At the beginning go the month there was something like 3800 2020's available across all trims. You should be able to get that depending on you regions quantities. What is the finance rate you are getting?

415,000 is the actual OTD with 8.375% tax. I have about 125 MDX's around 500 miles so the stock is dwindling quick. No more FWD Base available, only AWD Base.
They are also a tough sell against the 2021 Honda Pilot SE.
For the incentives to kick in you have to go with 2.9% ~ 3.9% 36~72 month loans, while Honda offers 0% financing on the Pilot.

Another got a Tech for 37.3k OTD.
With $7500 Cash you should be able to get better me thinks.

I think it's a lousy offer for a car that's already a year old. Last month I was offered $38500 OTD (including about 10% tax and fee) for a base AWD with MSRP of $47,500. Someone here already mentioned he/she bought a 2022 for about $4000 off including conquest and whatever discounts available to them. I am already noticing many dealers around me showing a doubling of 2022s to 30-40 cars.

One of the reasons they are decreasing quantities is the dealers are moving it to other areas of the countries where they may be more demand. So they are not making money on these. I am sure they would prefer to sell to you rather than trucking them somewhere else.

Anyone have any luck lately? Trying to close a deal on a SH-AWD Tech Pkg and the best I have been able to negotiate is 42.9K before TTL. Still finding inventory that works for me (black interior with one of 3 color options).

So why would they give you a huge discount?

Not all manufacturers are hit by chip shortages.

Just wanted to share the deal I got last month:
2020 MDX Tech SH-AWD (Red/Parchment)
MSRP $52,925 ($400 for Performance Red Pearl)
Acura finance discount $5,500
Acura conquest discount $1,500
Dealer discount $4,425
Net sale price $41,500
Dealer fee $699
Sales tax & title $2,806
Shipping CO to TX $700
All-weather mats 1st & 2nd row $0
Total price OTD $45,705 ($45K without shipping)
I did a nationwide search for red/parchment Tech SH-AWD, then emailed about 8 high-volume dealers who had multiple vehicles on the lot (all about 1000 miles away; the red Tech SH-AWD in Texas were long gone). After a bit of back and forth, I ended up with 3 dealers who were willing to sell it for $41,500 before taxes/fees/shipping, which is about $1400 below invoice. Also got them to throw in all-weather mats, which helps to offset the high dealer fee. I figure this is about as good a deal as you can find unless Acura increases the incentives; we are nearing the end of the month and quarter, which may make dealers a bit more eager to make a sale.
Thanks to all the previous posters for the pricing info, which helped me tremendously in my negotiations!

I am not surprised that dealers are still holding the line on these over the last 4 months. Incentives are few and dar between. Honda got lucky with shortage of chips and materials, otherwise the discounts would be deeper.

I am seeing more red 2020's on the road. Was your's the PMC edition? I wonder if this was the holy grail of 2020 mdx as it was the highest price of the 2020's and limited edition. Didn't think it was much discounting - but then again it is a 2020.
I am not surprised that dealers are still holding the line on these over the last 4 months. Incentives are few and dar between. Honda got lucky with shortage of chips and materials, otherwise the discounts would be deeper.

I also expected the discounts to be a bit better for an outgoing model with so much inventory, but we were initially in the market for a 2018 and the sky-high used prices drove us towards a new one for just a little bit more. It also seems like they're moving faster in certain parts of the country, because my local dealer in Houston had about a dozen 2020 FWD Techs on the lot a month ago (and wasn't offering big discounts either) and now they are all gone.

I got the following deal in NJ done entirely over the phone.
RDX SH-AWD (Tech Package) MSRP: 44,845
Conquest: 750
Dealer Cash Incentive: 1000
Discount: 2095
Sale Price: 41,000
Doc fees and title were also cheaper than surrounding dealers at 499 for doc fees and only $100 to transfer plates. No other dealer offered me more than 500 dollar discount and incentives if any discount at all and were not willing to negotiate.

Ridiculous market conditions
It makes no sense that 2020 mdx old models (2022 redesign) aren’t heavily discounted any more. Got a quote for a 2020 mdx awd advance for 53k on 59k msrp. 6k off. Lol. I can get same deal on 2022. They can hold on to it and pay interest while it sits on the lot. Anything less than 15k discount on the 2020 advance is a ripoff imo.

Did you actually get a quote for a '22 model or not? I suggest checking TrueCar for your area for a reality check.

Good luck getting a '22 version for 10% off or more. Due to the limited supply of '22s, the MDX Advance in my area is getting no more than 0-2% off MSRP (probably through loyalty and other promotions only like military or new grad).

No but someone posted 4000 off msrp in this forum. Luckily I don’t need another car. My 2012 mdx has only 64k miles on it. Just wanted to check the market. I had $11000 off msrp back in 2013 when I bought it for $42,000 plus ttl. Brand new. People were getting 12-13k off a year ago before 2022 hit the market. I bought a used 2017 accord touring 2 yrs ago for $23000 plus ttl. Now cheapest 17 accord touring is $27000 2 years later. Inflation like 3rd world countries my friends.

You mind sharing which dealership
