If you can afford to wait and don't have a car to trade, I'd wait until the '22 models become more plentiful.

48k is probably thousands more than if you had tried in the beginning of the year when they were basically blowing them away. Assuming the model you're thinking of is SHAWD, you're basically paying close to invoice.

ya i thought the same and talked to a few dealers and they expect the chip shortage until the end of the year. I dont see any dealer in NJ going down for the new MDX anytime soon.

The news gets worse. Apparently the semiconductor chip shortage is now starting to impact smartphones:

Can anyone confirm hidden offers?

It seems the 5500 finance incentive and 1500 loyalty/conquest offer are gone for 2020 mdx. Can anyone confirm?

not worth it. Unless you have to buy now and you prefer this model over the new redesigned 2022 and plan to keep it 7 plus years. Luckily I don’t need another car but I got curious about upgrading my wife’s 2012 mdx advance. It has Only 65k miles clean title. Blk/blk. Original owner no accidents. Excellent condition. Carvana offered me $17800. If I can get a 2020 advance model with a 25-30% off discount I will pull the trigger. You guys think I can get more than 18k? For my 2012 mdx?

Good luck on the 25-30% discount on a 20 Advance. Will be tough. Not many left and many dealers are no longer discounting heavily .... I see a few at a dealer in MI.

they can sit on them why buy a two year old car unless it’s discounted

Not saying the dealers will not sell at a discount ..... just not as much as what you’re looking for.
Evidently you haven’t seen used or new car prices recently. With the parts and chip shortages many of the car manufacturers are experiencing, prices for both will remain high. Many 1-2 year old MDXs (and most others vehicles) are selling close to what they sold for new. Once we get past these shortages, prices will drop.
Good luck on your car buying experience.

I have seen the crazy prices. Members on here have gotten those discounts up until March. the $7000 in incentives from Honda to the dealership is gone. My last two acuras purchased were 2012 mdx advance 42k on 53k msrp and a 17 rlx spirt hybrid advance cpo with 700 miles for 48k. On a 66k msrp. It makes no sense to pay 7000 more than what others were paying four months ago. Luckily I am not in need of a car but if honda brings back the incentives for 2020 mdx then I will upgrade my 2012.

Agreed! I purchased my new 2018 Hybrid Tech for 48k excluding tax and destination. If you cant get a good deal walk away because another dealer will give it to you.

I got mine last week: 2020 ASPEC Canadian for $55K. Brand new 8KM. Put a deposit for 2022, 3 days later got a call that the car will be ready in 3 months. I went to cancel the order and saw the 2020. I couldn’t refuse it. Almost $10K difference compared to 22. I told my wife, I don’t care, I will get this one. Week one and super happy.
