Starting problem

Went out to my car this morning and started it up as usual. Usually it takes a second or two to fire it up but today I held the key for about 5 seconds and stopped. I was thinking, "theres no way i could have a dead battery, the cars only 3 months old. I turned it for another 5 seconds and the engine chugged a little bit and then died out. Finally the 3rd time, it fired up but it kind of stuttered before starting up normally.

The starter sounded strong and it was doing its job but it seemed like there was no ignition. Usually when I've had a dead battery, the starter sounds weak or I hear nothing at all. Could it just be the weak honda OEM battery?

I'm trying to think of anything I've done differently since the last time i started it. There was a big storm in Chicago last nite but there wasn't any flooding. The wind was blowing onto the passenger side of the car so i dont think any water got up into the intake. My dad did move the car this morning so he could pull out of the driveway. He probably had the car on for 2 or 3 mins while he parked it on the street. The AC was on, probably about middle fan speed. No lights were left on.

I've noticed sometimes it takes a little bit longer to start sometimes since I took delivery of the car. Its maybe a second delay but nothing serious. Maybe I'll hook up the battery charger when I get home and see if that helps any.

If your starter sounds strong, then your battery is probably fine. You'll hear the starter being slower than usual if the battery was weak.

Dude i had the same problem. I woke up to wash my car. So i started the car (started fine), backed it out about 10 feet (so i could wash it in driveway). Turned off the engine, then washed the car. After i was done. I ran in the house to get changed to go to work. Then i come back and started the ignition. Same problem as you. First time it tried to start for about 5 seconds but failed, second time same problem, finally on the third time it started.

I thought the same thing, maybe my battery was dieing but no way i only had the car for 1 month.. From seeing what you wrote and what happened to me, it has to do something with......

1. starting the car for brief moment, then turning it off (Me backing up the car to wash it)
2. Water, (my car wash) or (your big storm)

Hmm my cars fine right now, but i dont know. Not a good sign when the car don't start.

I've had this same issue now for the 3rd time. The starting feels very week, the car does turn over so I'm doubting that it's the battery. As a desperate attempt a pressed the gas pedal several times and held it tight to the floor and it started. I have never had to touch the gas pedal when starting honda's for the past 20 years. This is really starting to bug me. The car will be 2 years old in June with only 26,000 kms. Anyone else having starting issues?

This car is a piece of shit! My Audi S4 is due in this week. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I still love my 2007 TLS!!! TSX is garbage! I've had nothing but problems with this piece of crap! It doesn't start or should I say when it wants to.. Acura said there were no codes and couldn't duplicate the problem...huh go figure that , paint SUCKS..looks like somebody took a shotgun to the front!, passenger seat creaks & rattles, backup camera sometimes works, it's a slush box, pleather sux and looks like i've owned the car for 100K even though I only have 20K on it! i've had it.....

My battery was replaced under warranty after 2.5 years, won't hold charges, and I have slow start-up (though never stranded due to dead battery) just before I brought the car in for service and they replaced it at 45,000 mile.
