Angry 2010 TSX 4Cyl HARD START AGAIN!

This happened to me again yesterday. Went to start the car and the engine kept turning over and almost seemed like it was flooded / sputtering for about 10 sec? It finally started by sputtering and arrived to a normal idol. This has happened to me 4 or 5 times already in the last 13K miles now on the car. Has anybody else experienced this? Last time I took it to the dealer and they said there were no codes stored and they couldn't diagnose the problem?

the dealer probably wont do anything unless they can replicate the problem themselves... good luck!

Try turn the key to position II and wait 5 secs, you will see your fuel gauge move up etc, this will give the fuel pump time to pressurized. Then crank the motor.

Otherwise have the tech look at Mass Air Sensor (MAS), fuel pump or fuel regulator.

Good point. I got in and usually I wait before I turn the key but imediately turned it and this is what happend. Honestly my 07' TL Type S never did this in the 65K miles since I purchased new. Never! I never have to wait a few seconds to turn the engine over. Seems very suspect to me?

This happened to my 2009 Accord Euro (Accura TSX) already twice now with only 3K miles done so far. First happened after moving the car from the parking lot to the garage. Yesterday, I only drove half a mile in the morning and half a mile back home in the evening and today it nearly didn't want to start. Seems like the engine is flooded with gas and doesn't like short distances. This is my 5th Honda and I never experienced so many problems with a Honda. Honestly, I want my old Accord Coupe back...not to mention the Prelude VTec 2.2 which was an amazing car.

it happened to me a few time on my 09 tsx, only after i drove for a really short distances and try to restart the car.
Other than that, trying to use fuel that contains no ethanol, it could help.

I have had the same problem three times with my 2010 TSX 4-cyl, auto. It has always happened after driving the car a very short distance, such as from the driveway into the garage. Upon trying to re-start the car, it will crank over but will not start until I depress the accelerator pedal almost to the floor. The car acts as if it is flooded, and the engine runs rough for a few seconds, then runs fine. This has happened when the car has sat for as little as an hour to over eight hours. The MIL has never illuminated during these episodes. I have 6,870 miles on the car, and just had it serviced for the first time yesterday.

my 2010 with about 8600 miles did this for the first time the other day. I just brought it in to the dealer for knocking and pinging issues, but they said the software is the updated version and it has the new knock sensor so there is nothing they can do. I did not bring it in for the hard start because I knew they would just pat me on my ass and tell me everything is OK.
I just have to hope that if there is anything seriously wrong that it happens before the 48,000 warranty expiration.

Make sure you run 93 octane and the will stop the pinging. The update knock sensor can only do so much. You will also have better fuel mileage as well as better acceleration.

The best gas that is available in my area is only 91 octane, but that should be fine. I mean hell it works in my gsxr1000 and my old S4. This TSX is just a measly 4 cyl. Not like it should require friggin race gas.
