Loose Bezel around homelink buttons

So this little plastic piece is a little loose and buzzes from time to time.
This is the hard plastic piece around the 3 homelink buttons.

I figure that I can pop it out and put some silicone or tape in there to firm it up. But I was wondering if there is a good way to pop it out without gouging up the piece or the surrounding plastic.

Anyone else have to do this?

Mine did the same thing. I popped it out with a piece of plastic a bit thicker that a credit card. You can also buy plastic trim revoval tools at NAPA. The clips on the bezel push in, and are found on the short sides of the bezel on the left and right sides.

I put a piece of Velcro (the soft, fuzzy side) on each end of the bezel and popped it back into place. No more buzzing. . .

Thanks.
I'll take a look at that this weekend.

Mine does the same thing. I'll have to pop it out and take care of it. I always just forget to fix it until I hear it again, then I forget 5 mins later.

Anyone care to post up a picture of where to start prying this piece out? I have the service manual, but it does a crappy job of showing how to take this area apart.

I didn't need any tools, just put my finger nails in the left side of the top/back seam and pulled down. It came out about 1/4 inch. Then regripped and pulled down to get it all the way out. It's made of high quality plastic and doesn't seem to break (had it out twice, once to explore and second time to fix).

The fuzzy Velcro at the ends, really tighten it up.

Just make sure it is not your sunglasses in the sunglass holder that is making the noise. Pushing on the homelink bezel makes the buzz go away because you reduce the vibration on the sunglasses/holder. Take the glasses out and see if the buzz goes away.

It's definitely the bezel piece. I can move the part around with my finger. When I hear the buzz, I can reach up, touch it and the noise goes away.

I know it's odd, but I think you can live with a noise longer if you know where it is coming from.

Funny story, I had my car about 10 days and I picked up a really obnoxious little vibration. turns out that it was one of those maple-tree-helicopters. It got jammed under the plastic at the base of the wind-shield and the "seed" acted like a little hammer against the glass. It took me about 2 days to figure it out.

Try using a couple of plastic credit cards on the ends. That might help.

Yes, those are the locations. If the credit card is too thin, try to find a slightly thicker piece of plastic and try to "pull" the bezel out as you insert the plastic card.
