Exhaust Pipe? OEM vs local parts store

In the past I have used local parts store pipes on my vehicles but I really don't think the quality is there. I currently need to replace the front pipe on my 09 TSX and was wondering what people thought about OEM vs local parts store. The main difference would be in the wall thickness and welds. If not OEM then what brand would you buy?

we dont know what you mean by "front pipe"
please expound.

also, exhaust shops carry different lengths, different wall thickness, different steels....
they can match up and weld just like stock....But first please explain what the heck is a front pipe.

Are you talking about the downpipe, where the primary catalytic converter is?

oem might be expensive. check out oemacuraparts.com.

the other option is to go with an aftermarket e.g. RV6 makes some options

RV6 is not street legal; it's a downpipe without a catalytic converter (i.e., PCD = pre-cat delete).

If you don't care for the performance gains and want to pass smog/emissions/etc pain-free, then go OEM.

If you don't care for smog/emissions/stink coming out the exhaust, and want some perf gains, get the RV6 PCD.

^ I agree. Do you drive on super salted roads (due to snow)? How many miles does your car have?
