V6 only!

We need our own threads. We shouldn't be classified just as 2nd Generation. we have a totally different engine so please start posting everything that you guys have done to your V6's here.

Engine specific = K&N drop in air filter

After having a 2nd gen 4-cyl loaner and being horrified by how much slower it is than the V6, I honestly don't think I'll do anything to the engine. The only thing I think the car really needs is a bigger rear sway bar to control all the body roll. When I put on my summer tires, the roll seemed to worsen.

Not officially. Intakes from prior gen TL's with the 3.5 *may* fit with modifications.

just traded in my 08 TL for a 2010 v6, i did some research befor my desicion. there is an accord sri that will work as an intake, forget which year, its on here somewhere. as far as power gains? damn...i dunno if i feel like chopping up this one. its so nice, so refined, and it already has lots of power. i dont think i would ruin it by tearing off the stock intake just for a few hp..
the only thing im gonna do is run royal purple, which is proven to free up about 3 hp and it gives better mpg, tint windows of course, and go all led lighting interior/exterior. there are not many of our v6's out there, my dealership had a hard time finding mine in the whole state! lets keep 'em cleeean sleepers

The most killer thing you can do to a V6 is take the "V6" emblem off....to the naked eye, you could have a I4 with like +80HP of "mods"...

hmm...that makes alotta sense. engine heavier up front so it requires more resistance for the same drop.

What does the throttle body spacer actually do? Where does it go?

TB spacers go between the intake manifold and the TB.

I think the drop is actually different on the V6 vs I4. I think the V6 is lower. Could be wrong though.

its basically a 3/4"(?) gasket that fits between the intake manifold and the throttle body. the material its made out of keeps heat from the engine/intake manifold from transferring to the throttle body/intake tube, which keeps the intake air cooler, cooler air more dense, bigger bang in combustion. more power. i dont think it adds hp just lets you keep what u have after the engine temp gets high after a little driving.

The suspension on the V6 is tuned to be firmer than the I4's partly b/c of the extra 200lbs on the front. But Ive also read from fellow acuraziners here that the V6 is about an inch lower than the I4's as well...

or at least from what I could infer from couple of the comments from here:

hi at all,
this is joshua from germany, so sorry for my english.
as i can see, all of you own a tsx v6.
very nice car !!! , unfortunately not available here in germany

may i ask some of you to do me a favor.

i own the european version of the tsx, called cu2 executive here in germany.
as i want to implement the hood struts at my car, i am in need of some pictures of the original installed struts / dampers of a tsx v6 2010 (closeups of how they are fixed/installed at the hood and fender).

as well i am looking for the engine room cover and there are only 2 parts missing to have it complete . could you pls ask your local dealer for the part-no's of the two marked pcs at enclosed picture ?

it would be great if one you could help me with that.

of course, i will post some pictures of my "baby" later on.

thank you very very much

cheers
josh

Correct.

Unfortunately I think no one has been here to help you guys out and there's been no one helping you guys out with parts, but there are lots of modifications that we have been able to bring to market for the V6 (and the i4).

Best mods are definitely:
- P2R Ported Intake Runners w/ IM Thermal Gasket
- Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Crank Pulley
- Throttle Body Spacer w/ Gaskets
- Exhaust mods

If anyone has questions on this stuff let us know, we know this platform better than just about anyone

Also, highly recommend coilovers! We are here for you 2nd gen TSX!!

Most parts for the accord V6 will fit, with slight modification but i don't want to have to pay for a part that is not specific to my car and then have to modify it. I don't have my mothers old civic that was handed down to me. I have a 38,000 Acura TSX V6 with Tech package. I can afford it but the parts that i desire aren't available that's why I started this thread to get the word out so if anyone has more news about TSX V6 parts post them up HERE!

you are correct, hate it when i post about a certain thing and than others compare it to something i am not even asking about. its not about that its about this!

I think almost everything in this thread is compared appropriately. It is the same 3.5l engine in the accord that is in the tsx. For instance the Takeda SRI for the accord was an exact match for my tsx. I just did not need one piece of extension tubing. NO modifications were performed to do this. There are some parts that I agree you should not try to put on your car, like parts for a 4cyl if you have a v6. Just not smart. If you wanted it to be extremely specific to the V6 TSX that should have been stated. Sorry for the thread jack here.

If I wanted and Accord v6 I would of bought one. I do understand that they have many similarities but there not the same vehicle and actually my sister has an 08' Accord v6 with tech and it's truly not the same car. The TSX feels like a Family sport car and in the Accord is like driving a sofa with four tires and and engine. My friend there's a huge difftance.

Sorry for my sarcastic remarks. I tend to not want to reply seriously to argumentative conversations. But, there are a lot of differences between the two. And in no way am I nor anyone else saying that you dont have the money to purchase the parts or an Accord to purchase the parts. Just chiming in on the thread stating that these parts will work for the V6. But you are correct on the fact that there are differences. The Accord runs on a 3.5L v6 j style engine which the TSX does as well, thats why most of those parts are comparable. but the wheelbase on an accord is approx 110 in where a tsx is 106. The length is longer by aprox 9 in on the accord, width is almost the same, and the height is taller. Maybe that is why the accord is more like driving a couch on wheels. Some people would probably love to put their couch on wheels and ride around....me I enjoy driving my tsx with couch modified parts.
