Does anyone know if FP Manager is capable of running on Chromebook?
My current laptop is 6 years old now, and it just seems like it's very slow, even running just the essential items. I like the Chromebook cause it's light weight and pretty inexpensive. But I don't wanna buy it if it's not compatible with FP Manager.

Chromebook is basically running apps from the android App Store. It's a great device if you just neeed something to be online but it would not allow you to install windows programs.
If your current laptop is running windows 7 or 8 upgrade the ram and you can even upgrade to a solid state drive and it will feel like a new computer. If it came with windows xp it may be time for a new laptop.

Oh true, I didn't realize it only ran apps. I like that it's simplistic and light weight, I really just want to use it as a dedicated tuning laptop.
My current laptop (HP Elitebook 6930P) has done well for me, intel dual core with upgraded 8GB RAM, running Win 7-64bit. The only thing I had to replace was the battery, it could no longer hold a charge (I bought a replacement for like $25, but I think I got what I paid for.. the battery life is like half what my OE battery did. Im lucky if it lasts 2 hours with screen brightness all the way down.) At this point Im just afraid my HDD is going to give out because of it's age and nearly 24/7 usage when I was in college.
Anyone recommend a laptop in the $100~$250 range for strictly tuning the car? I don't mind refurbished.

Take a look at the winbook tablet at microcenter. It runs full windows 8.1 and it has a full size USB port. I picked up the 7 inch for $60 and it's surprisingly fast. They have a 10 model too with optional keyboard/case. I think it would be perfect for a dedicated hondata pc.
Thank iselfie, Ill check that winbook out.
@icrap, if you can find me a reliable 120GB SSD for $50 and is compatible with my elitebook 6930P Ill buy it for sure. I just haven't seen any that low.

second the winbook as well, i have the 7 inch one. Actually i'm gonna sell it since I have too many tablets... you want it?
Ok, $50 was a slight stretch... but:
This one is $50 but I don't really know the brand,
Amazon.com: Silicon Power S70 120GB MLC 2.5" 7mm SATA III 6Gb/s Internal Solid State Drive (SSD): Computers & Accessories
This crucial is $62
Amazon.com: Crucial MX100 128GB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal Solid State Drive CT128MX100SSD1: Computers & Accessories
^Those drives are great. I have two in my desktop.
Amazon.com: Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA 3 2.5 (7mm height) with Adapter Solid State Drive 2.5-Inch SV300S37A/120G: Computers & Accessories
This Kingston is $52. Decent drive. not the fastest but should be reliable.

Yeah I got my ssd SUPER CHEAP! My 6 year old dell studio hybrid mini pc runs great with it too.. Takes just a few seconds to boot and shutdown fully now.. Just overall seems to be running a lot smoother
For most purposes, SSD is the best performance upgrade, hands down!
General break down:
1.x range -> low cam tuning
2.x range -> high cam tuning & vtec point optimization.
3.x range and on -> part throttle/drivability optimizations.
A lot of cars are done by 3.0. Some (due to mods of choice) are more picky and require much smaller changes from revision to revision to find a good harmony in the tune, so sometimes you'll get a new revision with 1 very small change, simply because I need to see it cures something or other.
Effectively once you're in the 3.x range you're usually welcome to enjoy the car as you like.

Oh, no complaint sir.
I was just trying to give the crowd a reference.
If anything, I am just bummed out that I am not home enough to drive it and get datalogs back to your person, like I did back in the late summer/autumn of last year.

Im bummed out that my so called friends wont help me tighten my belt!!
I haven't boosted in soooooo long. It's slowly killing me inside to see NA civics passing me on the highway

Get some better friends, or get a mechanic or someone to tighten your belt. I'm not understanding why this is taking longer than it should lol
(think about a "could have had a v8" vegetable juice commercial)
I literally worked the numbers out to see the cost of my hourly pay and how long it would take to change my own oil vs. what it would cost to pay someone to change my oil; and it would cost 3X the amount of money for me to change my own oil than a regular mechanic. That's the only reason I pay them to do it haha
