HandsFreeLink Has Lots of Background Noise

I'm so enjoying my (almost new) 2014 TSX Sport Wagon, but my first few phone calls have resulted in both callers commenting that though they can understand me, there's lots of background noise. I've made sure the heat blowers aren't getting in the way of the microphone (though the heat hasn't been on "high" during these calls anyway).

Is this a known problem? Does it have a known solution... or just a problem with HFL?

Some of them do that for some reason. I don't get any complaints with mine, but i took out the whole mic / homelink thing and put some foam behind it to stop some rattles... but maybe that has also helped with the background noise.

I don't suppose that's something the dealer would do... We're still under warranty and I wouldn't want to screw that up. But I'll suggest it!

Have the dealer fix it, I have had 2 2nd Gen TSXs and a 1st Gen and never had hands free noise on a call. You have a bad mic or BT module.

I would start with the dealer. It won't cost you anything but some of your time.

Yeah try your dealer first.
My dealership is full of ass holes who refused to help me even though I was still under warranty for most of my problems, so I figured them out myself.

That's the problem with most stealerships. It's almost as if employees are trained to give us the hardest time possible so that they don't have to do any warranty repairs. I really hope the Acura dealer I purchased from isn't like this when I need something done.

But back on topic, I too would take mine to the stealership. Who knows, maybe you will get an employee who actually cares about the Acura name and cares about its consumers.

Headed to a (somewhat) nearby dealership [the nearest dealership has a terrible reputation so I drove out of my way to avoid it] and they replaced the mic for free, under warranty.

Called my mom from the car, since she would be the one to give me an honest answer; she said it now "sounds like you're in the next room."

Thanks for the great advice, everybody!
