Amp wiring - Turn on wiring?
Amp wiring - Turn on wiring?
Noob here
I really don't know anything about audio/electric, so any terminology I'm using is from what I've read, but I might use it in the wrong context?
I have a 2004 TSX 6MT Navi. I'm doing my first big mod to it by adding subs.
I've got the subs wired in the box and to the amp, and I've got a "LOC" to pull from the rear speakers. The only things I have left to do is run the battery cable from front to back, find somewhere to ground and wire the turn on (?) wire. The guy at CarToys told me to find something that switches on with the car, like the ignition, but that seems confusing and impossible for me... in a forum I read you can tap into the same wire on the stock amp, and that the amp should be located behind the not an ashtray tray.
Any suggestions or input?

Well I spent all day getting everything done, go to turn the key and there's no power going to the amp. I checked the remote wire and replaced it into fuse #32, still nothing.... has to be something with the power cable. No multimeter at home to use, so I guess I'll be bringing it to CarToys to have them tell me where I went wrong.... I've been trying to avoid it cuz I'm a girl and I don't want my time wasted with them trying to sell me stuff I don't need!
Post some pics of what you did so we can see if anything is visibly wrong.
EDIT: Oh crap, i just realized you wrote 2004 TSX. This is the 2009+ section. I have no idea where your amp is located then. the rest of the process is the same though.

on the 04 the amp is located behind the "not an ashtray" If you go here and jump down to the 1st Gen TSX you will find instructions on accessing the factory amp.
